A man from Gusinja was arrested on suspicion of trying to kill a man from Plav

The Plav police arrested ER (51) from Gusinje on suspicion of committing the crime of attempted murder against a person, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.

As stated, the emergency service of the Plav Security Department was notified today, at around 14:40 p.m., by the Emergency Medical Service in Gusinje that Lj.K. from the village of Kruševo, Gusinje Municipality, had sustained injuries to his arm caused by a firearm, and that he was referred for further medical assistance in Berane.

"Police officers from the Plav Security Department immediately went to the scene, secured it and informed the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje about the incident, who, together with police officers, conducted an on-site investigation. On that occasion, other measures and actions within the jurisdiction of the police were taken to determine all the circumstances of the incident. Through operational work in the field, the incident was quickly clarified, and ER from Gusinje was identified as the suspect, who was located, placed under control and brought to the official premises of the Plav Security Department," the statement states.

It is suspected, the police add, that ER today, in the town of Kruševo, after a brief verbal argument, used a firearm - a pistol, and on that occasion caused injuries to the injured party Lj.K.

"Police officers seized a pistol from ER, which is suspected of being used in the commission of a criminal offense. By order of the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, ER was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of attempted murder, and will be taken to the acting prosecutor for further jurisdiction, along with a criminal report," the UP statement concluded.
