Bar police arrested a Kosovo citizen, VD (45), on suspicion of stealing over 100.000 euros from Baranin, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
According to the statement, the Bar police solved a criminal offense in the field of property crime committed on May 16, 2026 and, upon the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar, arrested a citizen of Kosovo on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aggravated theft against a person from Bar, from whom he stole money worth more than 100.000 euros.
"It is suspected that on May 16, 2026, VD (45), driving a vehicle, together with two other currently unknown persons, came to a parking space near the Green Market in Bar, where a passenger motor vehicle owned by the injured party was parked. On that occasion, one of the suspects followed the movements of the injured party while he was at the market, while the other broke the glass on the passenger door of the vehicle, after which they entered the interior and stole a large amount of money in various currencies, with a total value of around 102.000 euros," the statement states.
After the crime was committed, the UP added, VD and two other people left the scene in a vehicle driven by the suspect.
"Police officers, undertaking intensive activities to shed light on this criminal offense, identified VD, located him, and, upon the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar, deprived him of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aggravated theft. Officers of the Bar Security Department, in cooperation with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar, are undertaking further activities to locate and prosecute other co-perpetrators of this criminal offense," it concludes.
