Ulcinj police officers today, acting on the order of the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj, arrested Aleksandar Marković (40) from Podgorica, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of constructing a structure without a registration and construction documentation, and who had previously been prosecuted for the same criminal offense.
"Acting on operational information, police officers, in cooperation with the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Ulcinj, conducted a site inspection in the town of Kruče, where they found construction work being carried out on a building despite the decision of the competent construction inspection prohibiting the performance of work and sealing the construction site," the Police Directorate announced.
The institution states that the acting state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj was informed about the incident, upon whose order the police officers took further measures and actions within their jurisdiction.
"After collecting information from several people and securing material evidence, AM was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the aforementioned criminal offense."
The Police Department recalled that at the end of May, officers from the Ulcinj Security Department filed a criminal complaint against Marković on suspicion that he had carried out construction work on plot number 1096/34 KO Kruče, in the Coastal Zone, without a previously submitted application and the necessary documentation, contrary to the provisions of the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Facilities.
"The suspect, as suspected, continued to carry out work on the object in question in the previous days, even after the measures and ban imposed by the competent authorities, for which he was again prosecuted. AM will be brought before the acting state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj within the legal deadline for further jurisdiction," the UP said.
They announced that they are continuing priority activities aimed at combating environmental crime, illegal construction and spatial devastation, with the aim of protecting the environment, preserving the marine environment, the coastal zone and areas under special protection regimes, as well as protecting the interests of Montenegro and its citizens.
