Tivat police have shed light on several criminal offenses committed during June and, upon the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor, have filed criminal charges against three persons, two of whom are foreign citizens, on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of theft, vehicle seizure and abuse of position in business.
This was announced by the Police Administration (UP).
As stated, SB (34), an Austrian citizen with temporary residence in Podgorica, was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime of theft against a person from Kotor, on the order of the prosecutor.
"It is suspected that on June 1, 2026, in the town of Luštica, Tivat municipality, SB stole a wristwatch, glasses and money in the amount of 120 euros from a vehicle parked in a parking lot. After committing the crime, she drove away in the direction of Budva, and police officers stopped her while attempting to cross the state border with the Republic of Albania. The stolen items were found in her possession and returned to the owner," the statement states.
Tivat Police, the UP added, have solved the crime of vehicle seizure and, by order of the competent prosecutor, filed a criminal complaint against MR, a citizen of Montenegro and Russia currently residing in Tivat.
"Taking measures and actions within their jurisdiction, police officers identified MR as a suspect by collecting information from several persons and implementing operational-tactical measures. It is suspected that on June 14, he stole a motorcycle worth around 1.500 euros from the injured party, used it, and then threw it into the sea," it states.
Officers of this Department also uncovered the criminal offense of abuse of position in business operations and filed a criminal complaint against NJ (36) from Gusinje.
"It is suspected that, in early June, as an employee of a hotel, NJ embezzled 230 euros from the cash register, taking advantage of the absence of the responsible person. The Tivat police are continuously undertaking activities to combat all forms of crime and maintain a stable security environment, with a special focus on protecting citizens, their property and raising the overall level of security in the area of the Tivat municipality," it concludes.
