A citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Glavaš from Mostar, was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Higher Court in Podgorica for aiding and abetting the murder of Šćepan Roganović.
This decision was made by the criminal panel of the Special Department of the High Court, presided over by Judge Vesna Kovačević.
The decision was confirmed to "Vijesti" by Marija Milovanović, an independent advisor to the Higher Court.
The multi-year sentence was imposed for the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization and aggravated murder by aiding and abetting.
Prosecutor of the Special State Prosecutor's Office Siniša Milić requested in his closing argument that the court find Glavaš guilty and sentence him to a single long-term prison sentence of at least 35 years.
He proposed that Glavaš be sentenced to at least six years in prison for the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization, and 30 years in prison for aggravated murder by aiding and abetting.
Milić stated in his closing argument that material and personal evidence, as well as communications made via the Skaj application, proved that there was a criminal organization of which, according to the indictment, Glavaš was a member.
According to the prosecution, this criminal organization, as part of a plan and division of roles, committed a criminal offense to the detriment of Roganović, and also planned to commit several serious murders to the detriment of other persons.
Šćepan Roganović was killed on February 13, 2020, on the stairs near the Kanli Tower in Herceg Novi.
In the same case, the other defendants were previously sentenced to a total of 73 years in prison, while the proceedings against Glavaš and the now deceased Krsto Vujić were separate.
