The Police Directorate announced that officers of the Podgorica Security Department, in cooperation with officers of the Crime Prevention Sector, carried out a targeted action aimed at suppressing the activities of organized criminal groups and related persons of operational interest, preventing the unauthorized production, possession and circulation of narcotics, as well as identifying and prosecuting persons engaged in the so-called street distribution of narcotics.
"Undertaking intensive operational and criminal activities, police officers, upon the order of the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, deprived LT (24) from Podgorica of his liberty, an operationally interesting person close to a cell of a high-risk organized crime group, from whom more than 4,2 kilograms of narcotics were found and seized, including about one kilogram of cocaine, about 3,2 kilograms of marijuana, as well as 190 tablets of the synthetic drug MDMA (ecstasy). During a targeted control of LT, a larger PVC bag was found containing three packages with about one kilogram of cocaine," the UP said.
They explain that by taking further measures and actions, and based on an order from the competent court, searches were carried out at several locations used by the suspect, including a family house in the town of Rogami, as well as six passenger motor vehicles.
"A search of a Seat vehicle found three larger PVC packages with approximately 3,2 kilograms of marijuana, four PVC packages with a total of 190 ecstasy tablets, as well as two digital scales with traces of a white powdery substance suspected of being a narcotic drug. A search of a BMW vehicle found one package of cocaine, as well as 5.890 euros suspected of originating from criminal offenses. A spare pair of license plates belonging to that vehicle, as well as a pair of license plates of the Republic of Hungary, whose origin will be the subject of further checks," it was announced.
They point out that four cars were temporarily seized from Todorović, including expensive Audi vehicles (an armored vehicle with a special level of protection), BMW, and a Seat vehicle for further checks and expert evaluations.
"By order of the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, and after conducting criminal investigations and collecting material evidence, LT was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs," the UP said.
