Last night, the police in Herceg Novi sanctioned two persons of operational interest (OIL), filed a criminal complaint against a person in whose possession cocaine and marijuana were found, and arrested three people for driving under the influence of alcohol, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
"Police Directorate officers, throughout the territory of Montenegro, last night conducted intensified activities aimed at controlling operationally interesting persons, members of the OKG and persons associated with them, with the aim of discovering things and objects in illegal possession, as well as preventing and deterring the commission of criminal offenses and sanctioning committed offenses," the statement said.
The Police Department added that Herceg Novi police officers, together with officers from the Special Police Unit, during intensified police activities, conducted a raid on two nightclubs last night, during which they checked 150 people.
"Among the controlled persons were five persons of operational interest (OIL), of which two OIL persons, MM and BB from Herceg Novi, were sanctioned for the committed offenses," the statement reads.
The Police Department said that during intensified activities in the territory of Herceg Novi, 7,6 grams of cocaine, 6,5 grams of a white powdery substance for mixing with drugs - creatine, 5,2 grams of marijuana, a transparent CD cover containing cocaine, as well as scales for precise measurement were seized from VV (26).
"The state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was notified of the aforementioned event, who ordered that criminal charges be filed against VV, on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs," the UP statement said.
The institution also said that in addition to the above activities, police officers in Herceg Novi carried out intensified planned traffic activities last night, during which they checked 114 drivers and vehicles, of which they sanctioned 75 drivers for committing violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety.
"Nine drivers were sanctioned for driving under the influence of alcohol, of which three were arrested," the UP statement concluded.
