The Ulcinj police are searching for one or more unknown thieves who stole an expensive vehicle, a dark gray Toyota Land Cruiser with German license plates SK SC 81, from a beach on Velika Plaza on Tuesday, July 14.
The car was taken from the beach parking lot, the owner told the police. Samir Corovic from Bijelo Polje, permanently residing in Germany, disappeared between 11.20 am and 19.15 pm that day.
Ćorović told the inspectors that when he arrived at the beach parking lot, he saw a black jeep parked in front of his car, with a person he did not know inside.
At the time, there was nothing unusual about him, so he wasn't interested in the license plate number or the make of the jeep, but now, as he said, he suspects that this person is connected to the theft of his car.
He stated that he bought the car in Germany in February last year, at a price of 47,9 thousand euros.
Ćorović told "Vijesti" that he arrived in Montenegro and Ulcinj with his wife and two minor children for vacation.
"Instead of a vacation, we experienced an unpleasant experience. That's why I appeal to everyone to be extremely careful so that they don't experience the same thing as us. I think this is a group of well-trained professionals whose specialty is car theft," he said.
In Ulcinj, a group of unknown persons attempted to rob several houses in the Đerane 2 neighborhood almost a month ago, and locals joined the search, organizing guards to protect their property and catch the thieves in the act.
The editorial team was provided with surveillance camera footage showing Ulcinj's "ninjas" - men dressed in black, with balaclavas on their heads and in socks, without shoes.
According to one of the interviewees, there has been no progress in the investigation and the thieves are still evading justice.
"It's obvious that they have calmed down, but we are closely monitoring the situation in the city," said our interlocutor.
