Bar police arrested MC (45), born in North Macedonia and residing in Norway, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of violent behavior against Baranin, 56 years old.
MC is suspected of striking Baranin several times in the head and body, causing him serious bodily injuries.
"The injured male person, namely, on July 14, 2026, in the evening hours, approached the police premises and reported that immediately before that, in the town of Veliki Pijesak, near the main road Bar - Ulcinj, he had been physically attacked by a man unknown to him, and that on that occasion he had sustained injuries to the head and body. Police officers immediately took measures and actions to clarify the events, which led to the identification of MC as the person suspected of having committed this act," the UP statement states.
As the UP adds, it is suspected that on the said day, after a brief argument with a man with a damaged face, which occurred after passing vehicles in traffic, MC got out of the vehicle and struck the man several times in the head and body, causing him serious bodily injury in the form of a fractured shoulder.
"Police officers found MC and brought him to the police premises. The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar was informed about everything, on whose order MC was deprived of liberty, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of violent behavior," the statement reads.
The suspect MC, along with a criminal complaint, was brought before the competent prosecutor this morning for further proceedings.
