Budva police find cocaine and marijuana, arrest a Podgorica resident

Budva police arrested OK (36) from Podgorica, in whose possession they found cocaine, while they filed a misdemeanor charge against V. Đ. (19), also from Podgorica, for marijuana.

The Police Directorate announced that officers from the Budva Security Department conducted extensive checks last night aimed at combating all forms of crime, preventing violations of public order and peace, and improving the safety of citizens and tourists.

"Officers of the Budva Police Intervention Unit of the Security Department stopped and controlled OK (36) from Podgorica, who refused to undergo testing for psychoactive substances during the search. During the search, seven packages of aluminum foil containing cocaine were found on this person, as well as money in the amount of 1.285 euros and two 'iPhone' mobile phones," the statement reads.

After conducting criminal investigation and collecting information, the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the incident, which ordered the arrest of OK due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he had committed a criminal offense - unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.

A misdemeanor report was filed against OK with the competent Misdemeanor Court, due to a violation of the Road Traffic Safety Law.

"Also, officers of the Police Intervention Unit checked V. Đ. (19) from Podgorica, from whom a package of marijuana was found and seized during the check. A misdemeanor report was filed against this person with the competent Misdemeanor Court for committing a misdemeanor under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse," the statement reads.
