The Plav police identified DD (28) and VB (19) from Gusinje, who, during an event in Gusinje on August 3, 2026, displayed a flag with the symbols of the so-called Greater Albania, and a request was filed against them to initiate misdemeanor proceedings.
This was announced by the Police Directorate (UP).
"Information was collected from these two individuals in the police premises regarding the incident, and the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje was then informed about everything. After reviewing the case files, the prosecutor stated that the incident did not contain elements of a criminal offense that would be prosecuted ex officio," the UP statement said.
According to them, officers of the Plav Security Department, in accordance with the prosecutor's statement, filed a request with the competent Misdemeanor Court to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against DD and VB for violations under Article 19 of the Law on Public Order and Peace.
"In the coming period, the Police Directorate will continue to professionally and impartially take measures and actions within its jurisdiction in order to protect public order and peace, preserve the safety of all citizens and consistently apply the law, prosecuting all persons whose behavior disrupts public order and peace or violates positive legal regulations of Montenegro," the UP statement concludes.
