Police Directorate: 320.000 euros stolen from a market in Budva, no one injured in the robbery

Three robbers stole 320.000 euros from a supermarket in Budva last night.

This was officially announced by the Police Directorate.

Three armed robbers broke into a large supermarket in the center of Budva last night at around 10:40 PM, overpowered two employees and took money from the safe at gunpoint.

"The Budva Security Department's duty service was notified last night, at around 10:40 p.m., that a robbery had been committed in the 'Megamarket' facility, and that the persons who had stolen the money had left the scene. Police officers immediately responded to the call and other urgent measures and actions were taken, including the blockade of the immediate and wider area and a search of the area," the police announced.

The state prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed about the event.

"Police measures and actions indicate the suspicion that three currently unknown male persons, who were masked, entered the office of the 'Megamarket' facility in Budva at around 10:40 p.m. last night, where a female person employed as the manager of this market was, as well as two male persons employed in this market who were not engaged in security work at the market. The three perpetrators, while threatening with a gun held by one of them, which gun will be determined whether it is real or fake, demanded that the female person - the manager - hand over money from the safe, which she did. The sum involved is around 320.000 euros, which represents the market's sales for the previous two days. After stealing the money, these persons left the scene in an unknown direction," the police announced.

Three people working at the store were not injured in the incident. There was no physical contact between them and the perpetrators, it added.

"Police officers of the Budva Security Department, in coordination and on the order of the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, are taking all necessary and coordinated operational-tactical measures and actions in order to shed light on the events, identify the perpetrators, locate them and deprive them of their liberty," the police statement reads.
