The Police Directorate (UP) announced today that S. Đ. (49) from Podgorica, who is the third suspect in the arson attack on the vehicle of a family member of police officer MB, has been arrested.
"Officers of the Podgorica Security Department, continuing their activities to fully investigate the arson of the vehicle of a family member of police officer MB, have identified the third suspected perpetrator. After intensive criminal and operational activities, and on the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, police officers yesterday deprived S. Đ. (49) from Podgorica of his liberty, on suspicion that he, as an accomplice, committed the criminal offense of destruction and damage to another person's property," the statement states.
The UP added that the suspect, after being questioned by the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, was ordered to be detained for up to 72 hours.
"The Police Directorate, in coordination with the competent state prosecutor's office, continues intensive activities aimed at fully clarifying all events in which the property of police officers and citizens was damaged due to arson, as well as identifying and prosecuting all perpetrators, orderers and helpers," the statement reads.
