Thirty years old Mikhail Shabunin from Russia, was located in the forest above the Herceg Novi settlement of Topla, and at the moment of his arrest he opened fire on the police, and then shot himself in the head.
This was told by the director of the Police Administration, Lazar Šćepanović, to "Vijesti", stating that the suspect in the triple murder was located by members of the Special Police Unit, the Special Police Unit, the Regional Security Center "Jug" and other specialized police units.
"They located and isolated the threat in the forest above the settlement of Topla - a triple murderer, who opened fire at the moment of his arrest and then shot himself in the head," said Šćepanović.
Yesterday, Šabunjin killed three men at the "Češka zbrojevka" shooting range in Danilovgrad - a twenty-year-old Nemanja Kapor from Podgorica, his four-year-old fellow citizen Petar Globarević i Momir Radonjić (67) from Danilovgrad.
All three worked at the shooting range where Shabunjin carried out his murderous rampage yesterday.
According to "Vijesti", the killer first fired several shots at the instructor at the shooting range - Globarević - at the shooting range shortly before 17 pm, and then shot him in the head. Immediately afterwards, he returned to the area designated for renting weapons and killed Radonjić, then the youngest victim - Kapor.
He fired multiple projectiles at all three of them, the newspaper was told.
According to the same information, the owner of the shooting range, who was sleeping in one of the rooms, survived the bloody spree of the thirty-year-old killer.
An interlocutor involved in the investigation told "Vijesti" that the suspected killer fired two weapons yesterday, with both hands.
He did not specify whether he did this during the crime, or whether surveillance cameras recorded him while he was exercising.
After the crime, Šabunjin stole a black Seat Cordoba car with license plate PG-AC472, in which he fled to the vicinity of Podgorica.
He had previously stolen several weapons and several rounds of ammunition from the shooting range.
The Police Department officially warned citizens that the perpetrator had escaped armed and posed a danger, and urged them to stay in their homes until the police had the perpetrator they were looking for under control:
"And to be cautious in communicating with unknown persons and to report any suspicious behavior to the nearest police station... Strong police forces have been deployed to find the perpetrator - the Special Police Unit and Special Police Units. A blockade of a narrow and wider area has been established in several cities. All necessary measures and actions are being taken in coordination with the competent prosecutor's office to identify and find the perpetrator and shed light on the incident," the UP said.
A little later, they also sent photos of the suspect, one of which was from the shooting range's surveillance cameras.
In that photo, you can see that he had a cap on his head and a light-colored T-shirt on.
According to information from "Vijesti", Šabunjin is thinner, and yesterday he was wearing blue pants.
He used to come to the shooting range before.

"He is not kept in the records. We have certain reports of where he stayed," added Šćepanović.
Hiker and walk along Zeta
After the police published photos of the suspect, the security institution received several reports from people who had seen him in the territory of Danilovgrad in the previous days.
Among those who called the police were people who had seen him the day before on the banks of the Zeta River, as well as locals from Pješivci, where he was suspected of hiking.
Last night, in a coordinated action with operatives from the National Security Agency, the police established that Šabunjin was in Herceg Novi, "Vijesti" learned.
This was confirmed after information was received that the triple murderer had taken a taxi from Roga, where the car he fled in was found, to that coastal municipality.
According to the newspaper, when they reached their destination, Shabunjin did not have money to pay for the ride, which is why the taxi driver took his passport and mobile phone...
Late last night, the Police Department officially announced that, based on the evidence they have, the suspect is in the territory of the Herceg Novi municipality:
"That is why strong police forces have been deployed in this area, including members of the Regional Security Center 'South', the Special Police Unit and the Special Police Unit, with the support of a helicopter of the Army of Montenegro used for the deployment of members of the Special Police Unit, as well as with the use of available modern technical equipment and other capacities. The Police Directorate is working intensively on the precise location and deprivation of liberty of the suspect, and according to the data collected so far, the suspect was transported from Podgorica to Herceg Novi by taxi," the UP said.
