At the Vraćenovići - Deleuša border crossing, upon entering Montenegro, the owners, at the initiative of border police members, removed the insignia and symbols of Albania from the vehicles that were moving in a column and, escorted by the police, continued their movement unhindered to leave our country at the Kula border crossing towards Kosovo.
This was announced by the Police Administration.
The police said that they are addressing the public with the aim of objectively and truthfully informing the public, and in order to prevent manipulation and disinformation related to the movement of the aforementioned convoy of vehicles through Montenegrin territory.
"Yesterday, September 11, 2026, officers of the Border Police Sector, at the Joint Border Crossing Point 'Vraćenovići - Deleuša', at the entrance to Montenegro, in the territory of the municipality of Nikšić, carried out a control of an organized column - a total of 13 passenger motor vehicles with foreign license plates, in which there were a total of 20 foreign citizens, mostly citizens of the Republic of Albania. These vehicles were marked with prominent signs and symbols of the Republic of Albania," the police statement said.
It is added that border police officers informed this person that displaying symbols and insignia of another country on vehicles is contrary to Article 23 of the Law on Public Order and Peace.
"After which the owners of the passenger motor vehicles, in order to continue their further movement - transit through Montenegro towards Kosovo, removed the relevant markings from their vehicles, and then, accompanied by police officers for security reasons, they continued their movement through our territory to the Kula Border Crossing, where at around 02:00 they left the territory of Montenegro unhindered and continued their further movement," the police said.
During the official police actions and escort of the organized convoy of vehicles through Montenegro, there was no violation of public order or any other illegal behavior, the statement concludes.
