The "Night of the Book" event will be celebrated today throughout Montenegro in various creative ways, under the slogan "Read and awaken the superhero in you."

This year's "Book Night", the sixth in a row, deals with the theme "Favorite characters and heroes from the world of books and comics", with which the organizers want to "encourage us to think about the characters who were important to us, with whom we could identify, with whom we grew up, traveled and discovered unknown places, solved the most difficult tasks, from which we learned how to deal with the challenges of the real world", announced in the press release of the non-governmental organization Kultura plus.
"Participants of Book Night will explore how book heroes have inspired and inspired us, and shaped our lives. We will get the answer to the question why they are so important to us in over 60 programs. Programs dedicated to the youngest will take place in the morning and afternoon hours, and bring many creative and imaginative workshops: from costume parties with favorite characters, art workshops, various games and reading rooms, plays, visits to cultural institutions and printing houses. For one day, many will find themselves in the role of a hero from the world of books and comics," says project coordinator Maida Gorčević.
Adult audiences will also have the opportunity to gather around their favorite characters, but in numerous other programs that will take place in 15 Montenegrin cities, in bookstores, educational institutions, institutes, cultural centers, museums, and many other places.
"As many people want to buy or give a book for Book Night, considering it as a precious gift, booksellers have prepared for this occasion again this year sales promotions and discounts that will be available throughout the day, as well as free membership in the readers' club", announce the organizers. .
"Book Night" is part of the UNESCO manifestation dedicated to the World Book and Copyright Day, which is celebrated every year on April 23, a symbolic date in world literature because writers were born or died on that day: Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, William Wordsworth, Joseph Pla. This year's event is held under the auspices of the Montenegrin National Commission for UNESCO, while the partners of the event are the municipalities of Herceg Novi and Tivat.
World Book Day in Bar
The World Book Day in Bar will traditionally be marked by the enrollment of new members in the library, and a performance by the writers' association "Nekazano" on the King Nikola Promenade. From 7:19 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., the National Library and Reading Room "Ivo Vučković" offers free membership to all reader profiles under the slogan "Do something good for yourself, be a member of the Library", and those interested can receive a book from the Library's unprocessed collection as a gift.

121 years of Herzegovinian bookmaking are being celebrated
"Book Night" will be marked by numerous programs in Herceg Novi, it was announced from the Secretariat for Culture and Education of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, which will coordinate with the City Library and Reading Room, institutions and bookstores. Membership in the JU City Library and Reading Room will be free today.
The educational institution "Naša radost" will introduce Herzegovinian preschoolers to the literary work "Don Quixote". Children will get to know a work of classic world literature, the plot of a novel, learn more about the author, discuss the fight between good against evil, noble against bad and simple. In addition, the little ones will create fine art and works of applied art on the theme of "Don Quixote", parents will read picture books to them, and grandparents will tell stories, bring favorite characters to life, make a sensory book and a story from pebbles.
"Dašo Pavičić" and "Ilija Kišić" elementary schools will prepare different programs for primary school children.
In the Children's Home "Mladost" in Bijela, children will prepare skits and recitations.
Bookstore "So", which this year is celebrating 140 years since the birth of Jov Sekulović, the oldest regional bookseller, 121 years of Herzegovinian bookmaking and 15 years of existence - this year will also actively participate in the "Night of the Book" event. From April 22 to 27, every day from 13 to 17 p.m., in the bookshop "So" on the main square of Herzegnov, Velibor Fulurija will hold the bookshop and poetry guard.
