One of the artistic events of this year's City Theater was a concert by the famous virtuoso, violinist Vadim Tsibulevsky, who organized a musical holiday in the Church of Santa Maria.
The great maestro enchanted the audience with a program entitled "Poem of Love", in which, accompanied by pianist Oleksiy Molchanov, he brilliantly performed the works "Le Trille du diable" by Giuseppe Tartini, "Poem", op. 25 by Ernest Chausson, and Sonata op. 100, A - Major by Johannes Brahms.
Tsibulevski, who arrived on the classical music scene as an Azerbaijani prodigy (he started playing the violin at the age of four, at the age of seven he enrolled in a special music school in Baku, and at the age of ten he already started winning prizes at major national and international competitions), built his career in Moscow, and then in Israel, where he moved in 1990.
There he performed with the famous Shlomo Mintz in the Israel Chamber Orchestra, and from 1996, as concertmaster, Tsibulevski joined the "I Fiamminghi" Belgian Chamber Orchestra. Since then, the great violin virtuoso, as concertmaster, has played with various orchestras throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany ("Royal Concertgebouw" orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, "La Monnaie" Symphony Orchestra, "Royal Flemish Philharmonic", "Residence Orchestra Den The Hague", "WDR" symphony orchestra of Cologne...), participates in concerts as a soloist and chamber musician all over the world, and since 2001 he has been the first concertmaster in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Netherlands.
For the first presentation at the Gradu Teatr, as he said after the concert and the ovation with which he was greeted by the audience in Budva, he chose a program suitable for the romantic spirit of the Mediterranean, and all those exciting, nostalgic and warm emotions that environment carries.
"I came to your festival on the recommendation of a good friend, colleague, great violin virtuoso Mihael Bereznjicki, who lives and works in Montenegro. He told me wonderful things about the Theater City, its cultural tradition, the city of Budva, but also about your country. I am glad that during this short stay I myself was able to gain such beautiful impressions".
According to Tsibulevsky, he chose the works of these three composers for his performance, Tartini, Chausson and Brahms, because he wanted to provide an exciting pleasure to the audience with different musical tastes in an hour, with as varied a program as possible.
"I have been in love with the violin since childhood, its sound has the depth of the forehead, the heights of the piccolo flute, all the tones of the human voice, as well as all the strength of human emotions. In my opinion, this is the unique beauty and magic of this instrument. And I am only his servant, because the Guarnerius violin I play is the famous 'Cornelius Dolceze', which I received as a gift from the Dutch National Foundation. I was lucky enough to have it in my hands today, and I have a kind of religious devotion to this violin," said Tsibulevski.
The virtuoso who delighted us with his performance this summer, and who will surely be remembered in the anthologies of the Music Program of the City Theatre, pointed out that he was very satisfied with his guest appearance.
"It was also exciting for me that the audience in Budva recognized and felt the message I wanted to send to them with the program I performed, and I hope to meet them again in the future," said Vadim Tsibulevski.
