The new book "Media and Geopolitics" by historian and doctor of political science Radenko Šćekić was published by Media Culture, within the Media Theory library, edited by prof. Dr. Ratko Božović.

The study of the relationship between media and geopolitics, their interconnection and use - considering the comprehensiveness of the analyzed phenomena - represents a multidisciplinary approach to complex categories, such as information, space and time. The use of the media as a powerful tool in the processes of political communication and complex geopolitical movements is viewed from the perspective of history, culture, psychology, philosophy, sociology, economics, anthropology, and defense.

The complexity of contemporary relations between major global players, regional powers, transnational companies, international, economic-political-military organizations/alliances/unions is reflected in mutual global penetration, interdependence in terms of finance, natural resources, communications. Events at one end of the planet, in the era of globalization, have a media, economic, political and environmental impact on the other or on the interests of global players.

The mass media have a great influence in all of this, because information has become a very important geopolitical commodity that affects international relations, the economy, stock markets, and military relations. For the mass media, it is emphasized that they have become a powerful tool, although the image of the power of journalists is glorified. The media owners and their partners/principals from the domain of politics or business are powerful.

The author points out that in the sphere of politics: "Whoever controls the production and dissemination of information - has dominance over politics, ideology, and culture." The media have long ceased to be mere transmitters of information. They shape public opinion today. In the last few decades, media warfare has become significantly more important than conventional warfare.

The regional magazine Medijska kultura, under the editorship of Budimir Damjanović, has so far published 13 books within the mentioned library, by famous authors of scientific thought, such as: Alan Badju, Ratko Božović, Janko Nikolovski, Sandra Bašić-Hrvatin and others.
