Polish pianist Masiej Zagorski will present himself for the first time in Montenegro with a concert that will be held tomorrow in the Great Hall of the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović", at 20:XNUMX p.m., and admission is free.
The program includes sonatas by Wolfgang A. Mozart (B-flat major KV 570), Franz Schubert (a-moll D 845) and works of smaller form by the Polish composer Stanislav Moniuszko (Three waltzes and Epigrams and other miniatures). The guest appearance is realized as part of the "International Piano Week" project organized by the Music Academy from Cetinje.
Zagorski started taking piano lessons at the age of seven, and at the age of 14 he already gave his first solo performance accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra in his hometown of Częstochowa. He graduated from the "Frederick Chopin" Academy of Music in Warsaw, in the class of professor Kažimirž Gjeržod in 1989 and continued his education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, in the class of professor Walter Flaišman. He attended numerous master classes, and during his studies he was the laureate of the "Ignaci Jan Paderevski" piano competition (1986) in Bydgoszcz and the Polish Piano Music Festival in Slupsk (1990). He has performed with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Indiana/USA, the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra and other Polish symphonic ensembles, and also as a soloist in chamber ensembles throughout Europe, in Japan, Palestine, Russia and the United States of America. For many years he worked at the Piano Department at the "Frederick Chopin" Academy of Music, and since 2008 he has been teaching at the "Jan Dugloš" University in Czestochowa. He was a member of the jury at many piano competitions.
