The principle of large format in fine art represents the principle of unlimited artistic freedom, a sign of creative maturity and the power of artistic expression, said the director of the Museums and Galleries of Podgorica, Vučić Ćetković, at the opening of the "Large Format" exhibition in Podgorica, in the new exhibition space of the Modern Galleries from whose funds they are and presented works.
The unlimited artistic freedom and experience of artists are recognized in the exhibited works of prominent Montenegrin artists: Milivoj - Miško Babović, Draško Dragaš, Miodrag - Dada Đurić, Nada Kažić, Pavle Pejović, Aleksandar Rafajlović, Branislav Ban Sekulić, Ilija Šoškić, Rajko Todorović - Todora, Žarko Vojičić and Srđan Vukčević.
Ćetković said that this exhibition opens up possibilities for "new visions and interpretations of the values and peculiarities of the Montenegrin art scene", and art historian Petrica Duletić said that this exhibition can be seen as "the aesthetic genesis of domestic artistic practices".
"It testifies to free movement through the realm of expression, the use of diverse materials, different media and new technologies. The exhibition also offers the possibility of a dialogue between the works of artists who marked certain decades, created the spirit of the times and recorded the relationship between art and the social reality of our era," said Duletić.
Ćetković said that this exhibition will be an occasion for "strategic planning of the permanent museum exhibition, based on the standards and practices of significant regional and world museums" and pointed out that new spaces for art, such as the space of the Modern Gallery, are part of the development strategy of the Museum in Podgorica it gets new locations and scenes for art and culture.
The exhibition is open until January 17, 2020.
