The Route of the Regional Union of Theaters festival begins on Monday, March 2 in Podgorica, and during the duration of the festival, until March 7, the City Theater will host the best productions of five prestigious theaters from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Montenegro. that is, the City Theater as the host of the first Ruta festival, was announced at yesterday's press conference.
The festival will be opened by the project of the "Ulysses" Theater from Zagreb and the Belgrade Drama Theater, the play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" directed by Lenka Udovički. On the second day of the festival, the play "Plastelin" by BDP directed by Marko Torlaković is performed. On Wednesday, the play "Sjećaš li se Doli Bel" of the Sarajevo Chamber Theater 55, directed by Kokan Mladenović, is on the repertoire, then on March 5, the Skopje Drama Theater's play "Strangers" directed by Nela Vitoshevikj will be performed, the Ljubljana Municipal Theater will present a play directed by Nejc Gazvoda "Plah udah", and Ruta will close with Vida Ognjenović's original project "Gozocide" produced by the Podgorica City Theater.

"After the performances, which start at 20 pm every evening in the Great Hall of the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović", a panel discussion on the topic "Position and function of theater criticism in the region" is planned. The Ruta festival in all the capital cities of the former Yugoslavia is organized by the Regional Union of Theaters, whose members are the above-mentioned theaters, and in addition to the festival, Kovačević points out, numerous co-productions, exchange of creators and the like are expected in their further work and cooperation.
