The director of the Cultural and Creative Center "Akord" from Nikšić, Dragan Knežević, published on the official YouTube channel "Akorda" an audio-video collection of songs "Poetry of the past". In the first part of the collection, the verses are spoken by Knežević, and in the second part by 17 of his friends.
"These are songs that were written more than 35 years ago, mostly for my pop rock bands 'Secret Relationship' and 'Ljubavna Gerila'." A little later, some prose poems were created that I wrote in one breath, in the most sincere way from my soul.
In this time when covid-19 is raging, when we are all trapped in our homes, I found these songs in old notes and decided to make an audio-video collection", said Knežević to "Vijesta".
As he pointed out, the production is not a studio production, because in the time of corona it was not possible, but, as I said, it depicts the times, past and present, that bind friendship and love.
"I wrote about imaginary and real loves without the burden of whether I was creating a great work of art. The verses came out by themselves filling the blank paper and stayed that way. In the song 'Where will you go Ivana' you will recognize the line by Ivo Andrić 'Where will you go Jelena, it is difficult to tread the late snow', from the song 'Jelena'. With that, I wanted to pay tribute to my most adored writer," Knežević said.
With a smile, he points out that he is not a poet, but a rhymer who wants listeners to find something beautiful in his poetry and to be comfortable while listening to it.
"I spoke my lyrics from the heart, inspired by the music of my old friend Saj Kovac, who now lives in Poland, and with whom I had wonderful and unforgettable gigs in the Bar in the eighties. His track 'Angel on Earth' is extraordinary and depicts him in full light. The idea developed further by inviting my friends to recite one poem each. In this group of wonderful people there are playwrights, professional and amateur actors, musicians, poets, journalists, talented young people who are speaking poetry for the first time, professors, bankers, tourist workers, officials... They all gladly accepted my idea and recorded it on their mobile phones. everyone has their own track", said Knežević and thanked everyone with the message that life is short and fleeting and that it should be lived enjoying art of all colors.
"Part of those colors and I are in front of you," concluded Knežević.
