Due to the epidemiological situation caused by the corona virus, the Kotor Children's Theater Festival will not start today, as planned and announced, but has been postponed until further notice. Festival director Petar Pejaković announced this to "Vijesta", following a meeting with representatives of the Municipality of Kotor and consultations with the National Coordinating Body for Infectious Diseases (NKT).
NKT previously told "Vijesta" that the Kotor Festival and similar gatherings are being canceled and that they have informed the organizers about this. They also said that several similar requests for holding events were sent to that body.
The start of the Kotor Children's Theater Festival and the International Literary Festival "Odakle zovem", which is being held in Podgorica, was previously announced for today. Unlike the festival in Kotor, the organization "Odakle zovem" confirmed at yesterday's press conference that the program will start today and last until July 5, and they also emphasized that everything will be adapted to the current situation, while respecting the NKT measures .
"We have just finished the press conference and we are looking forward to holding the festival with all the recommendations of the NKT measures. All these days we are in daily communication due to the circumstances in which the festival and other cultural manifestations are held. That's why we canceled the participants from Croatia and Kosovo", said the organization "Odakle zovem" which, under the slogan "Education", will be opened tonight with a program at the Karver bookstore at 19.30:XNUMX p.m.
Yesterday, the organization of the festival in Kotor sent a statement to the media informing them of the postponement of the media conference scheduled for today at 10 a.m., after the meeting of the Board of Directors of the festival, which will set a new date for the festival at 9 a.m. "I think it is extremely important that the Kotor Children's Theater Festival takes place this year, and I will put my efforts into making it happen. In the meantime, there may be some artistic actions online, but we will announce that in due time," said Pejaković to "Vijesta".
They unofficially told "Vijesta" yesterday during the day, while they were waiting for the meeting and suggestions of the NKT, that they are ready for the start of the festival, but also that they have plans in case of its postponement, and the previously prepared and announced program is available on the website kotorskifestival.me.
The Podgorica cultural summer event also postponed part of the previously announced program. The Secretariat for Culture and Sports of the Capital City of Podgorica announced yesterday that for "preventive reasons, due to the epidemiological situation, it was agreed to postpone, not cancel, only part of the program of the Podgorica Cultural Summer", and the program that was planned for the period was postponed from July 1 to 10. They pointed out that all the programs will be implemented in the period after July 10, and the public will be informed about the new dates of the implementation of the programs later.
The cultural and informational center "Budo Tomović" also postponed the program that they planned to implement during the first half of July.
"Due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Montenegro due to the spread of the corona virus, KIC 'Budo Tomović' postpones until further notice all programs planned for the first half of July. Postponed: an exhibition of Lidija Vukčević's works (July 6), the promotion of the book 'Touch' by Savka Gudović Parađina (July 7), the promotion of Veselin Konjević's book 'The Vrane legend - the legend of Pava and Ahmet - between history and legend' (July 9 ), but also the performances of the KIC POP Choir, in Kotor on July 12 and in Žabljak on July 13", they announced with the explanation that the public will be informed about the new dates of the postponed programs in a timely manner.
According to the recommendations of the Institute for Public Health (IJZ) of May 29, when holding and participating in public gatherings, while maintaining hygiene, among other things, for the entire time of stay in all areas, including arrival and departure, it is recommended to maintain physical distance between people from two meters. This rule does not apply to members of the same household or persons who are usually in close contact.
It is recommended to use a mask for people who are at risk of developing a more severe form of the disease covid-19. Wearing a mask is mandatory in a closed public space. A maximum of 200 people are allowed to stay in both open and closed public spaces where events are organized, while respecting the distance of two meters.
The Institute for Public Health also states that this number is "subject to change in accordance with the results of the situational analysis and continuous epidemiological assessment of the situation."
