The director of the National Museum of Montenegro, Anastazija Miranović, handed over more than a hundred titles - monographs, monographic catalogs, books and publications published by the NMCG - to the City Library and Reading Room of Kotor today.

On that occasion, she pointed out, as announced, that the National Museum, as part of its educational and cultural mission, donates important profiled editions from Montenegrin cultural heritage and art to related institutions of culture and education throughout Montenegro.

"We started the action last year and we are successfully implementing it this year as well. I am glad that we have the opportunity to come to Kotor and give away books, despite the difficult covid weather that prevents us from socializing with each other. I hope that the people of Kotor will enjoy reading the monographs about our most famous visual artists and their works, but also valuable publications from the cultural heritage and the art and culture of Montenegro in general," said Miranović.

The librarian consultant at the Kotor City Library and Reading Room, Jasmina Bajo, thanked the director of the National Museum of Montenegro, who, as she pointed out, enriched the collection of the Kotor library with a valuable donation.

"How valuable this donation is is proven by its number, because our collection has over 500 titles, and today we received over 100 titles of valuable publications that are very significant for the cultural heritage and art history of Montenegro," said Bajo and invited Kotorane, as announced from NMCG, to use books from the library fund.

The National Museum of Montenegro has a rich publishing activity, and during the last year it issued 19 publications. The gift to the City Library of Kotor is a continuation of the action of donating the National Museum's editions to educational and cultural institutions in Montenegro, among them: the Faculty of Fine Arts from Cetinje, the "Petar Lubarda" High School of Fine Arts, the Bar Cultural Center, the "Yugoslavia" elementary school from Bar, Pavle Rovinski" and "Marko Miljanov" from Podgorica, while these days, according to the NMCG, the action of donating publications to cultural institutions in the north of Montenegro continues.
