The exhibition "Paste In Place", by graphic design students of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, was opened yesterday in the hall of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica, in accordance with current epidemiological measures, and will be available to the public until the end of the year. The exhibition will continue to be held online, on our Instagram page with the help of photographic and video formats.
The exhibition features the works of 14 young authors, made in different techniques, as well as works that fall under different areas of design and art. The exhibition consists of illustrations, photographs, posters, books and brochures, infographics, and the works were exhibited by Sara Jolić, Amina Tutić, Ana Mitrović, Ana Ivanović, Miloš Nikolić, Iva Mijanović, Lana Bulatović, Radisav Stijović, Simona Vujović, Gordana Đurović, Anđela Mrvošević, Jovana Mrvaljević, Valentina Dronjak, Aleksandra Drecun.
"The exhibition is named after a tool that we in graphic design use in our design programs, and it should also symbolize the voice of young people/authors who try to follow contemporary trends and create new ones. We tried to show the diversity of graphic design and techniques we use, which includes the areas of graphic communication - infographics and posters, book design, photos, art-books, calendars, illustrations", said Lana Bulatović.
She presented herself at the exhibition with a unique interactive calendar.
"My work is an interactive calendar, different from the established way of designing calendars. The calendar was created by selecting an international holiday that represents it for each month (Health Day, Women's Day, Valentine's Day...) and illustrating the symbol of that holiday. The task of the observer/reader is to complete that symbol, the illustration on the left page, with the help of the offered collage material. In that way, this calendar is both educational and encourages creativity", explained Bulatović.
The exhibition includes various expressions of young artists, so Ana Mitrović presented herself with photographs. She pointed out that such presentations are especially important for young authors.
"My work was created in 2019, as a series of photos with nudes. My boyfriend and I are in the photos, so the work is a self-portrait through three stages of growing up. At the moment, I aspire to do photography through which I can easily express myself, and most of my works are conceptual and almost all of the photos are me, so I build my story around photography. I think that these kinds of exposures are very important for us, young artists at the beginning of our careers, because I don't think we are visible enough. We are visible among ourselves, because we are oriented towards each other", she pointed out.
As each of the represented authors had the opportunity to choose their representative work, Simona Vujović wanted to present herself with a landscape.
"I normally do mountaineering, so this work was created on one of the 'tours'. I find inspiration for everything I do in nature and mountain massifs. The fact is that the moon was full when I took the photos that I presented, but I could not then capture the frame the way I imagined it, so I performed an intervention on the photo by adding my own moon and realizing my vision of the photo," Vujović points out with satisfaction. .
Each of the authors will be presented in more detail on the Instagram page of the Faculty of Fine Arts, with accompanying photos and video content. The exhibition was realized in cooperation with the Faculty of Fine Arts, which is part of the University of Montenegro, and with the support of the Secretariat for Culture and Sports.
