The famous Serbian conductor, composer and arranger Vojkan Borisavljević died at the age of 74. He will be remembered as the author of the hits "Odyssey", "Ljubav je samo rec", "A sad adio" and the music for the TV series "Sivi dom" and "Vruć vetar" and the film "Barking at the Stars", reports RTS.
"It is with sadness that we announce that maestro Vojkan Borisavljević, a music great, with whom we performed great concerts, above all in the Sava Center, with the choir and orchestra in December 2019. Rest in peace," wrote Momčilo Bajagić Bajaga on Facebook.
Vojislav Vojkan Borisavljević was born in Zrenjanin on May 5, 1947. After finishing high school, he studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade.
He received his musical education at the Belgrade schools "Dr. Vojislav Vučković" and "Stanković", as well as private studies in Paris. He has been actively engaged in artistic work since 1965. He composed more than five hundred songs for the most famous Yugoslav singers, including Leo Martin, Zdravko Čolić, Đorđe Marjanović, Miki Jevremović.
He collaborated with TV Belgrade as a music associate and editor since 1968. He participated in a large number of music, theater and film festivals in the country and abroad, where he was awarded several times. He spent his entire working life as a freelance artist within the Association of Composers of Serbia with the status of distinguished artist. He composed music for theater, film and television, popular and children's songs, instrumental compositions and arrangements, which makes up several hundred pieces of different genres. music.
On the Great Stage of the National Theater in Belgrade, on March 22, 2018, he held an author's concert, called "My Odyssey", and on that occasion he was presented with the aforementioned award. That year he also published a book of the same name.
