New recognitions for the Nikšić poetess

Although she is used to awards, she is equally happy with each new one because, as she says, it is a confirmation that her songs find their way to those who have love and poetry in their hearts.

We are talking about the poet Gordana Sarić, the ambassador of poetry and love, who received three awards from the "Takec" Foundation from Bitola - she was declared poet of the year 2020, she was awarded a platinum plaque for poetry and an award for special contribution to poetry and prose.

Recently, on the occasion of promoting world writers and festival organizers, the "Morocco Mexico" Alliance received a certificate for efforts in the cultural and humanitarian field and the spread of culture and peace.

Last year, the poet from Nikšić, who can't live without writing, was "decorated" with several important awards by participating in various online festivals. Prizes and medals arrived from America, Algeria, Italy, India, Romania, Macedonia... from medals for excellence and for special contribution in the field of poetry, to diplomas as a poet of the world, champion of poetry, ambassador of peace and culture.

"These awards mean a lot to me. If you work, if you invest your life and soul and people appreciate it, in competition with several hundred poets, that is sublime for me. A reward that is just as valuable, even dearer, is when poets acknowledge me and say that the awards I have received are well-deserved. Is there any greater recognition than the respect of fellow poets", the poet recently told "Vijesti".

She "crowned" the previous year with a new collection of poetry, "Soul Music", the 20th book she signed. Her poems have been translated into English, French and Spanish, even into Hindi, which makes the poet, who published her first book in 1985, particularly proud.
