"The main feature of all Montenegrin poetry and prose is its diversity. There is no single group that would determine the main direction, there is no main flow, it is impossible to name the main trend. The only criterion according to which classification would be possible is the relationship of the author to the Montenegrin language, state and cultural heritage", said writer and moderator of the evening Lena Ruth Stefanović tonight at the Artistic Evening of Montenegrin Literary Creativity at the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović".

In addition to the moderator, Montenegrin poets read their verses: Željko Sekulović, Dragana Mrkić, Božidar Proročić and Edita Dautović.

Dragana Mrkić is a journalist of RTCG, and her published collections are "Previše te ima", "Predugo te nema" and "Na lejjom ramen" from which she read her verses tonight.

Sekulović has been writing poetry since the 90s, he published two collections of poetry "Treba mi riječ" and "Tango ulice", and he also read verses that will be found in his new book.

Dautović was born in Prijepolje but lives and works in Podgorica. She read verses from her three published books; the poetry collection "Cula" and the poems "Ophelia's Tears" and "The Saga of Pava and Ahmet".

Božidar Proročić is a poet, publicist, cultural mediator and promoter, anologist as well as a master's student at the Faculty of Transportation in Niš. He writes poetry, short stories, literary criticism and essays, and so far he has published the collection of poetry "Autumn of Poets", as well as over 150 author's texts.

Ruth Stefanović also said that there is no avant-garde and that it is not possible to indicate a dominant movement.

It is not possible to consider the dominant movement, or even the two or three most advanced 'schools', to understand which is the prevailing interest. What's more, the current impossibility of avant-garde existence is one of the most distinctive characteristics of our time", the writer gave her review of modern poetry.
