Through his work, Srđan Vukčević succeeds every time in presenting us with something of his own, something that we do not understand, and yet we are delighted by it, this is what the author of the introductory text of the catalog, art historian Marin Ivanović, said tonight at the opening of the exhibition "Divine Promenade" by the academic painter Srđan Vukčević.
The exhibition was staged in the Modern Gallery of the JU Museum and Gallery in Podgorica as part of the "Podgorica Cultural Summer" festival.
In addition to Ivanovic, exhibition curator Selma Đečević and Podgorica Mayor Ivan Vuković spoke at the opening.
"It is a special honor for us that the exhibition 'Divine Promenade', a project of the highest creative scope, was realized in our art gallery in Podgorica, in the hometown of the artist," said curator Đečević and expressed her satisfaction that the art program of the 22nd Podgorica Cultural Summer opened with an exhibition prominent academic painter.
The exhibition is made up of two connected segments, the first of which is the "Julimbi Garden" and the second "Efeta Confessional". The opus of the first segment presents a series of paintings and two drawings, while the second shows a meaningful installation of a handmade umbrella.
At the opening, Vukčević pointed out that the Divine Promenade represents a walk through a world that can be sweet or bitter, but through which we are guided by emotions.
"Passing through the Garden of Eden, we pass into a place that gives us the right to be with ourselves, confessing our own conscience," explains the artist.
Vuković pointed out that as a friend of the artist, he has the privilege of enriching his life experience with the stories of Vukčević.
"This time he invited us to follow him along the paths of the Divine Promenades," said Vuković about the exhibition.
