Bijelo Polje White Field Jazz Festival, the 15th in a row, will be held today and tomorrow in Bijelo Polje, organized by the Public Institution "Ratković's Poetry Evenings". From the town square, where the festival has been held until now, this year all the programs will be moved to the courtyard of Rist Ratković's house, whose number of seats, up to about 50, fits with the measures of the Ministry of Health.
The director of "Ratković's evening of poetry" Kemal Music said that until now they experimented with the Park of Poets and the hall of the Cultural Center, but that they always returned to the square.
"Considering that it is club music and that jazz does not belong to mass and consumer culture, it may turn out that the House of Rist Ratković is the best place to host the program. What we want is to position Bijelo Polje and Montenegro as a destination recognizable by cultural events, through the Jazz Festival as well as the Ratković Poetry Evening event," said Music.
He reminds that last year's 14th Jazz Festival was remembered and noted for the publication of the book "Event Management" by Prof. Dr. Mirjane Kovačević and Prof. Dr. Igor Stamenković, who explains the organization of cultural events in the best way.
According to Musić, the festival succeeded in the mission set out from the very beginning, which is to form at least one orchestra in Bijelo Polje, by animating Bijelo Polje musicians in that direction.
"This year, Bjelopolje bands are performing to the greatest extent. There is the indispensable 16-year-old Hana Mulić, who has exceptional vocal abilities, who performs with the band Acoustic Therapy", announced Music.
He added that recognizable names from the musical life of Montenegro and the region will also be performing this year.
"We are also pleased with the performance of the young band 'Akira' with Adela Međedović, whose band plays jazz covers of domestic and foreign songs. Along with it, there are the famous bands 'Mikrokosma' and 'Rudolf', as well as our old friends - the Bjelopol band 'Acoustic therapy'. The festival will close with a performance by violinist Verica Čuljković and DJ Danilo Radusinović," said Music.
He concluded that an interesting two-day program will follow and announced an evening dedicated to a great artist and musician.
"An interesting musical event awaits us, enriched with accompanying programs where we will be reminded of our great Dragoljub Đuričić, who was the artistic director and promoter of the Jazz Festival in Bijelo Polje.
