The exhibition "Hiding Beings" by the Montenegrin painter Dragan Karadžić was opened last night as part of the art program of the Bar Chronicle.
As announced from the Bar summer festival, the display of works consists of 69 paintings, and they fill the entire exhibition space - King Nikola's Castle and "Velimir A Leković" Gallery.
"This coast for the next 21 days will be dedicated to our great painter, academician Dragan Karadažić. We were thinking about how to title this exhibition because we are all marked by the time that is behind us, which has questioned and imagined us, so I believe that there could not have been a better exhibition after all those personal and collective trials from Dragan Karadzic's 'Hiding Being' I say this because I believe that in these works of his that are exhibited in the Bar Chronicle we have something that is healing and that we all need to return to ourselves, to some true world. We live in a world of cuts, forecasts, speed, statistics, not to mention the dark side, and this exhibition brings us back to the truth. And that truth is at the bottom of our soul, it is a direct contact with ourselves and nature that affects our personality." , Milun Lutovac, the selector of the art program of the Bar Chronicle, said at the opening.
As he pointed out, the title of the exhibition has an unusual connotation.
"Every human being is the hiding place of some great being. How that being observes its hiding places, how many dialogues, temptations, how many finds refuge in all of us, perhaps provoked by the space we carry, is a question for the being. Here we don't have to limit ourselves to on the human race. Dragan Karadžić seems to have some big plan and he covers the space he creates with it. In all those climates he tries to present on his canvases, he feels the pulse of that space. Those who understand fine art can feel that he has direct contact with all those certain positions that he tries to transfer to the canvas, and that is the magic of painting," Lutovac pointed out.
The press release added that the theatrical segment of the Bar Annals will begin with the play "Don Quixote", directed by Andraš Urban, which will be performed tonight.
"It is a co-production of the City Theater from Podgorica and the Bar Annals, and it premiered in 2019 at this festival. This production was based on the motifs of Cervantes' novel, and the dramaturgy was done by Vedrana Božinović. In Urban's directorial vision of Cervantes' masterpiece, on some local "windmills" are attacked by seven women - seven actresses who talk about the problems and dilemmas of contemporary society and women in such an environment. certain social hypocrisy and manipulations. Cast: Branka Femić-Šćekić, Vanja Jovićević, Kristina Obradović, Sanja Popadić, Jelena Simić, Branka Stanić and Anđelija Rondović.
