After a 17-year hiatus, a new issue of the children's and youth magazine "Smile" will be published in December, which will be published four times a year. The magazine was founded by the Association of Montenegrin Writers for Children and Youth, which renewed its work at the end of last year.
"The association inherits a tradition of 28 years in nurturing and promoting literature for children and young people, bringing together the most important names from that field in Montenegro. The association is working on renewing membership, publishing, and festivals," the Association's press release states.
In order for "Smile" to delight the little ones with quality content, but also for all interested creators for children and young people, as well as child creators, to get a chance to publish texts, drawings, illustrations, the Association issued a call and invited all interested parties to send their works to address: casopisosmijeh@gmail.com no later than October 20.
"The theme of the issue that will be published in December is the New Year and Christmas holidays. A maximum of three contributions can be submitted, one of which must be thematic. 'Osmijeh' was published continuously from 1991 to 2004, and 95 issues were published," the press release states.
A new editorial team was elected, consisting of: Blaga Žurić, Svetlana Kalezić Radonjić, Velimir Ralević, Dejan Đonović, Velisava Metđonaj, Ilija Nikčević i Branko Vuković, while the editor-in-chief of the magazine is M.Sc Goran Radojicic.
"The goal of this call is to create as wide a corpus of texts by children's writers and children's artists as possible. In this way, we will ensure the quality of the magazine, on the one hand, but also motivate and affirm creativity for children and children's creativity, on the other hand, which is the goal of 'Smile', but also of the Association", said Radojičić.
