Exhibition of diploma works of students from Montenegro in Spain

Proof that art has no borders is the exhibition of the students of UDG, the Faculty of Design and Media from Podgorica, which was presented to the audience in Barcelona. The exhibition was set up on October 30 and 31.10.2021, XNUMX. in the prestigious Begemot gallery in the center of Barcelona. The idea of ​​the whole program is to promote Montenegrin young creators in the world. The audience in Barcelona had the opportunity to see the diploma works of students from the subjects Digital Photography and Fashion Design.

Montenegro is not sufficiently established in Spain, so this exhibition was an attempt to bring our country and the art scene closer to a wider audience outside its borders. The topics of the diploma theses were different, as some of the female students who presented in Barcelona also spoke about.

The exhibition was organized and prepared by prof. Ana Vasiljević and Prof. Aleksandar Celar.

Ela Kazakova points out that she has always been attracted to existential questions.

"In the topic 'The light that life means', I asked myself and the people around me the question 'What is the light of life?' The question may seem simple, but the answer sometimes took a long time, and what was my surprise when I saw other people's answers! Each of them was unique. Their diversity inspired me to create a series of photographs in which I discovered the connection between meaning and light, without which there would be no life, as well as the fact that light is present in the most unexpected things. I thank Aleksandar Celar for providing such opportunities to his students. I am pleased to be a part of this exhibition", said Kazakova.

Anastasija Pismenskaja explains that the topic of her diploma thesis is "Portrait under a mask" and that her main goal was to show fifteen photographs through a black and white self-portrait that represent the different states in which a person finds himself during his life.

"The goal was precisely to show how important it is to look in the mirror of one's self." The technique I used was the ow-key. Photos taken in this way usually have a lot of black tones, and in the shadows the details sometimes disappear completely. In addition, the goal was to explore a personal self-portrait as a theory about a person's inner world and hidden reality," says the young artist.

Their colleague Sunčica Obradović chose "Portrait under a mask" as the subject of her graduation thesis.

"This topic also refers to the psychological state of consciousness. Therefore, as an author, I had the freedom to show the reflection of the human psyche and soul in the most creative way possible, so I presented it through photographs. The photo 'The Beginning of the End' depicts a female person who is ready for disappointment. The black color that hides one part of the face indicates sadness. The photo "Brema" is a moment in life when a person finds himself in his own trap, when he thinks he can overcome life's battles, but still he is not strong enough to face the problems. I am proud and honored to have participated in this project/exhibition, and that, as a photographer in Montenegro, I had the opportunity to show my work to a wider audience," said Obradović.
