"Only the homeland has two heavens, only in it both fire and water agree. It always seemed to me that there are two moons and two suns in Piva," says the poet Sofija Simović.
But that's why Piva doesn't have two Sofias like this - a poetess for whom writing is one of the ways of being, who defends herself from injustice with poetry, who saves herself by writing and is nourished by love, who was always unusually ordinary and herself and tried to "carry the world within her , without getting tired".
"I write to surrender, to survive mediocrity, to renew myself within myself. Honestly, I write as honestly as I have to. I write to remain myself even when fraud becomes the rule, as they don't let you think, even when simpletons write biographies, and people from the holster sit in theater seats and smile only when asked to do so. When I get tired of waiting, I take medicine for the soul, put a poem under my tongue and go to the hill above the city", said the writer whose evening was organized by the "Zahumlje" JU and the "Vladimir Mijušković" Literary Association.
She admitted that everything important remains in her, that she writes when she feels the need of the spirit, that happiness is union with others, but also with herself, that she loves the city under Trebjes with a lot of soul.
"I like to say that this city smells of a special form of solitude, of prayerful, persistent silence Vitov's rain, morning coffee, to a smile stronger than death, to the dignity of pain that only the people of Nikšić have. I don't post often. I've been carrying it around for a long time. I write from the pure need of the spirit, to get out of myself as I remove the shadows from within and get lost under the skin. I always think that maybe I wouldn't write if I wasn't born in Piva. Poetry once set a path for me, I write to save myself".
According to the words Vesne Todorovic, autumn reigns in Sofia's poetry, she "plays" with the rhythm of language, and she sees the world inside and around her best in a mirror.
"These books bring us the records of a soul that observes and experiences the world in a special, only its own way. They show us what it looks like when the poet looks behind the physical world, in and out of the mirror and stays in it for a long time. In her letters-songs, Sofia blurs, shadows images, plays with metaphors, paints a world of impermanence, appearances and illusions, a man of many selves, whose life swirls between nothingness and the absolute," said Todorović.
Her poetry, as she pointed out, searches for the truth, celebrates beauty and promise, does not tolerate many eyewitnesses, tends to mislead us rather than convince us of something.
"In the world of molds and serially produced people, with disturbed relationships and feelings, she, different among them, shares her well-thought-out words as balm and medicine... The world that our poet longs for, and that she offers us, through the handles of her poems, bathed eternal radiance of unsettling light, exists only in poetry and beyond the limits of time. Sofia's verses, like any good reading, should be carefully read and 'swallowed' in order to become better people", says Todorović.
Sofija Simović is, according to the words Saving Bajović, a poet of special poetic style and singing, unusual in many ways, both in her work and in ordinary life.
"It is special for its vitality and charisma, for its emotional charge and suffering. She strongly connects her poetic ecstasies and ups and downs with Piva, from which she originates, immersed in its colors and smells, in its spiritual and mythical depths. She rarely appears at literary events and in literary magazines, all because the poetess wants to. "Reading her collections of poetry, one gets the impression that Sofija Simović tirelessly writes one poem, one book," said Bajović.
As he said, the poetic source and starting point in her collections lies in the mirrors of the soul that radiates the motifs of love, sin, pain, happiness, internal wheels of light and darkness, and religious motivation for elevation above the mundane.
"The poetic mirror is a confusing force that seduces and leaves. It is a secret witness to events that reflect the lyrical world of Sofija Simović. From imaginary mirrors, the poet communicates with the world, she tries to connect the incompatible with love and prayer, to bridge the unimaginable, to intertwine memories, to gather the seeds of dreams into a star necklace. "The poet dispels the darkness from the temple of the heart, she faces her duality as a detector of knowledge on the path of pathlessness and salvation," said Bajović.
In addition to the mirror, an important motif of Sofia's poetry, which, according to the words Goran Radojičić, exudes "a life that is parallel to death, because death and life know no limit", is also heaven.
"The sky is a mirror of striving, longing, comfort and pain. Heaven is a passage to the other side, to what is only accessible to us through dreams and soul, what we strive for carried by the codes of faith in the goodness and rightness of actions, existence and actions. The sky also hides behind the clouds, what we long for, what left its mark in the apples on the table, in the scent of quince, in the trodden paths, in the original maternal sin that the lyrical subject carries between his ribs," said Radojičić.
According to him, the poet addresses her verses carefully, aware that the answer is found in forebodings, that dawn, "the moment when mythical creatures emerge from the lake in the form of deer, when the water stops flowing for a moment, when miracles are possible" is "the limit which occurs between sleep and wakefulness, between death and life".
"A border that is accessible only to a poet, a lyrical subject who sees, like an impressionist or symbolist visionary poet, all those underworlds inaccessible to the ordinary eye... Sofija Simović's poetry hides a message under the layers of verses and stanzas, liberated verses that symbolize a liberated spirit. In that poetry, we can see the female handwriting of modern literature, which again in some segments carries the threads of tradition and role models", pointed out Radojičić. Sofija Simović has published three books, "When Sorrows Stand Still", From Sins Younger" and "Letters from the Mirror", she was included in the anthologies "Snene Eve's Daughters", "Durmitor's Poem's Garland" and "Stormy Fields of Poetry", she is the winner of the literary award "Pledge".
He is currently writing prose, stories in which, as in verse, there is a conflict between man and himself, with others, with society, where the inner world tries to overcome the outer one. She believes that "the word will remain alive both in time and in bad weather" and that the written gene she carries was not given to her at birth for no reason.
The audience enjoyed listening to the beauty of Sofia's poetry Jovan Dabović i Tijana Vujović who made an effort to make the telling of poetry poetry, a feast for the ears of those for whom verse is still more important than the "sword". St. Mandic
