Differences are easily overcome for the sake of humanity and friendship

Despite all the difficulties during and after the process, the Podgorica audience will finally see the play "Green Choja Montenegro", tonight and tomorrow on the big stage of the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović", at 20 pm. It is a play based on the motifs of the novel Mom Kapor in partnership with Zuk Dzumhur, directed Nikita Milivojevic, and the play was co-produced by the City Theater Podgorica, the Public Institution Grad Teatar Budva and the Belgrade Drama Theater.

Referring to the importance of the story and the message that this reading (conveys) was the intention when choosing the text, said the artistic director of the City Theatre. Dusan Kovačević.

"We live in a time when the lack of empathy is very pronounced, where human relations are disturbed... King Nikola and Osman Pasha found themselves in a situation that is historically very important, and which encourages emotion and a broad perspective of nobility in people who are side of the fiercest enemies, but still respect, appreciate and love each other. That's why this story is great and fits in with the other repertoire moves this year, because it deals with interpersonal relationships and the problems of a small person in relation to the system or another person", he pointed out.

Actress Jelena Simic she pointed out that various challenges were overcome, and that the special richness of this piece is in the cooperation and closeness, either in the story it tells or in the process itself and among the team members.

"I am grateful for the fact that there are three co-producers and that this in itself is often very complicated, but we as actors got the opportunity to meet new people, collaborators and to achieve something else in addition to what we achieved on stage as colleagues kind of closeness and friendship and I hope that this will be a practice in the future as well", she pointed out, adding that the story was told in a different way.

"Our focus was friendship, but also differences, as well as the fact that people who are in certain positions have a big responsibility that they should take care of and that they should represent, but at the same time they are challenged by the fact that they should preserve both friendship and humanity, even to choose between those things. What kind of sacrifice is needed to preserve humanity and friendship and find a way for it all to survive... All of that can be compared to the current time and situation when some differences distance us from each other, and it is very easy to overcome them," she said. Simic.

Actor Simo Trebješanin he recalled the excellent atmosphere during the creation of the piece and pointed out that he hopes for similar co-productions in the future as well, reminding of the importance of energy exchange between people. But what causes special sadness is the loss of a colleague and friend, an actor Marko Živić.

"Despite all the difficulties, this show (continues) and the memory of our colleague Marko Živić remains and he will always be with us. It's not easy when someone you share the stage and time with, with whom you rehearse every day, it's simply not easy to find out that that person is no longer there, and that you will have to go on stage without him... Somehow we continued, but the memory of him lives. When we play a play, we think of him, we know that he is there with us and that he is smiling at us somewhere behind the scenes", said Trebješanin.

She also spoke at the press conference Svetlana Ivanovic in front of the co-producer, Budva City Theatre, as well as the secretary of the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City of Podgorica, Ana Medigović. Both performances on the program are part of the DEUS December Art Scene event.

The premiere of the play "The Taming of the Shrew" is postponed

Dušan Kovačević said that the premiere of the play "The Taming of the Shrew" will not take place as announced, on December 27, on City Theater Day, but is being postponed. The reason for this, he says, is exclusively of a technical nature, and the premiere can be expected at the beginning of next year.

The play "The Taming of the Shrew", based on the text by William Shakespeare, is directed by Dejan Projkovski.

The end of the year at the Gradski, instead of the premiere, will be marked by the celebration of the Day of the Gradski Theater when "a beautiful collage" will be presented and certificates of thanks will be awarded to all the people who contributed to the realization of the repertoire, Kovačević announced.
