Films by Živko Nikolić in Danilovgrad

Film retrospective Živka Nikolić it started yesterday at the Danilovgrad Cultural Center and will last until January 29, it was announced from the Cultural Center, which organizes the event in cooperation with the Montenegrin Cinematheque. During the following days, the program will be available to film lovers and admirers of Nikolić's work, every evening at 19 p.m.

Last year, the Montenegrin Cinematheque celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth and 20th anniversary of the death of the famous Montenegrin director with various programs, with a special emphasis on the central one in November, and the Danilovgrad Culture Center enters the year 2022 marking the 81st anniversary of the birth and 21 anniversary of the death of this great Montenegrin filmmaker.

The Cinematheque of Montenegro has prepared a meaningful program that will present Nikolić's opus.

"A large retrospective of Nikolić's exceptional work includes documentary shorts and feature films. To this end, Kinoteka has scanned film copies that are in the best technical condition, so that these films will be available in digital form in the future," the announcement states.

Today's repertoire includes the following films: "Window" from 1976, "Bauk" from 1974 and "Jovan Lukin" from 1979. Tomorrow will follow: "Ine" from 1978, "The Death of Mr. Goluža" from 1982, on Wednesday "Oglav" from 1977, "The Escape" from 1981, "The Unseen Miracle" from 1984 will be shown. A day later, on Thursday, on the repertoire includes two films, "Throat" from 1977 and "The Beauty of Vice" from 1986. With the desire to recall Nikolić's television work, the Montenegrin Cinematheque decided to show an episode from the Theater of Poetry, an episode about Nikolić's surname and fellow citizen, also a great artist. Vito Nikolic, a in which he speaks verses Boro Begovic, followed by "The Trace" from 1971 and the film "In the Name of the People" from 1987. On the last evening, on Saturday, January 26, the films "The Builder" from 1980 and "The Temptation of the Devil" from 1989 will be shown.

"The realization of this project will once again highlight Nikolić's authentic filmmaking, which attracts the attention of audiences outside of Montenegro," say the organizers.

All screenings start at 19 p.m., admission is free, but compliance with current epidemiological measures is mandatory, the Danilovgrad Cultural Center reminds.
