Exhibition "Slides" of a young Montenegrin painter Isidore Sarić, will be opened tonight in Nikšić at the Faculty of Philosophy, at 19 p.m.

"My work is a kind of emotional and experiential testimony... I openly show this inner experience in the combined form of photography, film, drawing", Sarić told "Vijesta" about her work, on the eve of last year's group exhibition "Rhythm, Space, Moment" when presented in Kotor together with Vladan Mirković i Milena Krivokapić.

Art historian Kristina Radovic points out that Sarić presents his way of observing and reflecting on art, through presentational discourse, in a documented way, for which he uses a complex procedure based on a combined technique whose basic constitutive and conceptual parts are photo-films.

"The artist applies photo-films on a base made of canvas, paper or some other surface, so she intervenes in the composition with other techniques such as pencil, pastel, ink, acrylic. The base is covered with films and paint and becomes invisible, and although invisible it reaches our perceptions on a metaphysical level and is a constitutive part of the composition. Works with various frames, transparent photographs with color tones that correspond to reality, contribute to the fact that the compositions take the form of a positive photographic plate - a slide," wrote Radović.

She adds that Sarić resorts to this because he recognizes that elements of real life and reality are boring to both creators and viewers, so he strives to change that reality - "both in terms of visual and conceptual", claims Radović.

"Isidora's slides are variations of one motif with different meanings. Motifs (historical moment, family moments, personal moments...) are repeated but with differences. No matter how many times the matrix is repeated, it always has different meanings. One slide can never be the same," Radović points out.

The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Nikšić, the University of Montenegro and the Museums and Galleries of Nikšić.

Sarić was born in 1998 in Nikšić, and graduated in 2020 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Trebinje, Department of Painting - Drawing, Photography and Multimedia Art. He is currently in his master's studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, at the Department of Painting - Intermedia Art.
