Filming of the feature film "Crack in the Ice" by the screenwriter and director Maja Milos, produced by the Serbian company Baš Čelik, started recently, reports the Film Center of Montenegro.
The project received the support of the Film Center of Montenegro in the competition with co-financing in the category of minority co-productions. In addition to the various locations planned for filming, a part of the film will also be shot on the territory of Montenegro. The cast also includes Montenegrin actors: Jadranka Mamić, Mirko Vlahović i Momo Pićurić, together with actors from Serbia, among whom stand out: Jovana Stojiljković, Marko Grabež, Nataša Ninković i Ljubomir Bandović.
"Crack in the Ice" is a co-production of Serbia, the Netherlands, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro, and the co-producers are Volya Films (Netherlands), Nightswim (Italy), Zavod Spok (Slovenia), Vertigo (Slovenia), Propeller Film (Croatia). and Quadrifolium Films (Montenegro). She is a producer Jelena Mitrović, and the co-producers are: Denis Vaslin, Ines Vasiljević, Jožko Rutar, Danijel Hočevar, Boris T. Matić i Ivan Bakrač from Montenegro. He is the director of photography Vladimir Simic, will sign the scenography Marija Jocic, and costumes Ivana Majstorović Kesić.
The plot of the film follows the skater Maria who lives with her father, a truck driver, in the suburbs of Belgrade, and the synopsis further reveals what it is all about:
"Destroyed by the pain of her mother's death, Maria cannot come to terms with her raging sexuality. She feels dirty and it haunts her in dreams, sexual, dark and self-destructive. After her father brings a new wife and her two daughters into the house, Maria realizes that she can't trust her stepmother. Due to financial problems, Maria tries to earn extra money and enters a world where women are exploited, which puts even more pressure on her repressed sexuality. The stepmother manipulates Maria's emotions towards her father and has outbursts of anger towards her, which escalate into physical violence with the constant pressure that she needs to earn more money. Maria then has to give up skating, which is one of the rare moments she enjoys. However, the love of a desirable young businessman gives Maria the strength to accept herself, her sexuality and overcome problems." , it says on the FCCG website.
