Podgorica's cultural summer 2022 begins today with exhibitions of a famous Montenegrin artist Milije Pavićević which will be opened tonight in the Modern Gallery in Podgorica, at 20.30:XNUMX p.m., it was announced at yesterday's press conference on the occasion of the beginning of the event.
The event lasts until September 25, and is characterized by a rich program in which the June repertoire includes the Underhill Fest, the Zabjelo Culture Festival, several solo concerts by Montenegrin artists, as well as local and regional musicians, plays, choreo-dramas, film screenings, sixth and seventh edition of the Made in New York Jazz Festival, an evening of student films by students from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje in class Nikola Vukčević, literary festival "Odakle zavem", manifestation "Day of the best" and so on...
"What is new compared to last year, since there are really a lot of programs, is that we will release a monthly repertoire. That's why we are unique not only in the region, but I can freely say also in Europe, because our Podgorica cultural summer lasts June, July, August and September, and we will announce the repertoire every month. In addition to the exhibitions tomorrow evening, the program will continue at 21 pm with a duo concert Dušanka Belada i Marije Mitrović, in Njegošev Park", announced yesterday the secretary of the Secretariat for Culture and Sports of the Capital City of Podgorica, Ana Medigović.
She also pointed out that in conceiving the event, as in previous years, they were guided by the basic guidelines of the city's policy in the field of culture.
"Through the programs and manifestations that we realize, we can see that the cultural needs of the city's residents are changing and growing. We are trying to develop a specific, original and flexible cultural milieu together", Medigović pointed out and added that she is satisfied with the great cooperation with cultural institutions, the independent scene, international organizations and diplomatic missions, and this was confirmed by the director of the Museums and Galleries JU. Vučić Ćetković who spoke about the institution's plans and announced tonight's exhibitions.
"In the gallery space on the ground floor, the exhibition 'Tokyo 2018' is presented, the exhibition of which consists of 47 photographs taken during the artist's stay there. On that occasion, Pavićević had a direct encounter with Japanese culture and tradition. The exhibition 'Acqua Alta', which consists of three segments: 'Self-portraits', 'Cetinje' and 'Ljubo', has been set up in the space on the first floor. The artist's works were created in the last six years," announced Ćetković.

Urban on June 16 at Independence Square, Lajbach is waiting for better times
Already during June, several concerts will be organized at different locations in the city, Ana Medigović said, and specifically announced Damir Urban's concert.
"You know that Damir Urban's concert was planned as part of Pazar, and unfortunately it was postponed due to bad luck with his back, but it will be held on June 16 at Independence Square, at 21 p.m.," announced Medigović.
For last year's edition of the Podgorica Cultural Summer event, a concert by the Lajbah group was announced, which was canceled, and when asked by "Vijesti" whether that segment might be compensated, Medigović replied that it was not planned for now.
"Yes, we were in negotiations and agreed on the concert, but at the moment when 100 or 50 people can attend the concert, and it costs a lot to realize the concert, I must mention that the Secretariat for Culture and Sports is an administrative body, which means that everything that is we pay extra for technical support because we are not an institution that has this kind of support in its activity, and since it is about taxpayers' money, we decided to wait for better times for that. You know that most of our programs, i.e. all that the Secretariat organizes and is the producer of, are free, and it was planned that this concert would also be free", explained Ana Medigović.
