Exhibition Masha Jovovic i Jova Petričević will be opened today in Podgorica, at 20 pm in the Centar gallery. The exhibition will be opened by the curator Milica Bezmarević, and the public can see it until August 31.
"There is something fundamentally ennobling in the works of Maša Jovović that encourages and awakens a positive attitude towards people, nature, things, life... This is a precious value, not only in the context of the philosophy of visual culture, which rests on the principles of beautiful, sublime, quiet and healthy, but also in the broader discourse of contemporary society, which is overwhelmed by the aggressive contents of brutal everyday life, where such scenes of optimistic content become rare oases of spiritual recovery", wrote Bezmarević about the work of Jovović and continued on about Petričević:
"In this direction of a positive and affirmative attitude towards Life and Art, it is also possible to observe the graphics of Jov Petričević. Despite the current tendencies of contemporary graphic practices, which are conditioned and encouraged by the most diverse technical possibilities of endless duplication and mass production, which ultimately calls into question the basic premise of graphics as the art of multi-originals. Petričević deals with graphics in a way that respects and understands its traditional values, which in itself has become a kind of rarity and exceptionality," she wrote.
Maša Jovović was born in 1979, and graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trebinje, in the class of prof. Marko Musovic In 2004, she completed her master's studies at the History Institute of the University of Montenegro, majoring in History of Culture and Historical Anthropology in 2015.
Jovo Petričević was born in 1975 and graduated in graphics, also at the Academy in Trebinje. He is currently in postgraduate master's studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje.
