Opening of the exhibition and presentation of the architect's monographs Mladen Sudjic will be held today in Budva at 19 p.m., in the "Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša" memorial home.
The participants will be: an academician Siniša Jelušić and the author Mladen Sudjic, and the event is organized JU Museums and Galleries Budva, held as part of the European Heritage Days international manifestation. She is the curator of the exhibition Bojana Popović.
"At a time when we are faced with the general scourge of cultural devastation, which appears dominantly in Budva in the form of urban destruction, it seems that forms of visual language, such as photography, film and visual arts, which all have a picture in common, remain one of the important ways of transcending the passage of time , which relentlessly calls into question the temporal past, the temporal being, with the essential contents that constitute it. The destruction in question certainly stems from the zeitgeist, which is characterized by the absence of the Spirit," wrote Jelušić.
He adds that Mladen Suđić's painting in this sense also represents a kind of stopped time, a past time that emanates the spirit of beauty, which the Budva architect, from the long-standing family of Suđić in Pashtra, permanently exposes with his constant expression.
"Thus, the painting participates in a form of creating a culture of memory, which should be an unavoidable imperative for every Budva citizen, necessary for him because it can guide him to that foundation, which is gradually being more and more forgotten. How exactly to understand the principles of Suđić's artistic process? First of all, bearing in mind the unavoidable fact that it is based primarily on his architectural vocation, from which we must always start in order to be able to perceive the polyphony of the structure of the painting on which the aesthetic value of his creation rests in the subsequent analysis", he added.
Jelušić explains that the contrast between the strict architectural form and the completely opposite watercolor as a warm, lyrical expression is precisely the permeation of opposites that becomes the decisive and necessary condition of the essence and value of Suđić's painting. He adds that watercolor, as a technique of painting with water colors, is one of the oldest painting techniques that was especially used by the peoples of the Mediterranean, and the Mediterranean theme represents one of the most significant cycles of Suđić's painting creativity.
Mladen Suđić graduated from elementary school in Budva, and technical and architectural high school in Podgorica. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, where he got a job and worked at the Yugoslav Construction Center, then at the "Lola Ribar" industry, and then at the Chamber of Commerce of Yugoslavia, that is, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia. He has been painting for 20 years, he had exhibitions in Budva, Sveti Stefan and Belgrade, and he had about 30 exhibitions abroad.
