The exhibition "Terra(c)otto", by sculpture students of the Faculty of Fine Arts from Cetinje, will be opened today in Podgorica at 18 pm in the courtyard of Kuslev's house.
Thanks to the academic project "Terra Student Camp", managed by dr Ivana Radovanović and M.Sc Slobodan Kojic, eight students of FLU Cetinje had the opportunity to participate in the same: Ksenija Borozan, Nikola Balević, Sara Petrović, Aleksandra Aranitović, Milica Lakićević, Dragana Petković, Željka Pestorić i Mato Uljarević who, while staying in the space of the "Terra" studio, which has been the teaching base for many students and their professors from art academies in the area for decades, experienced working on a large-format terracotta sculpture.
"Since working and staying in the old brick and tile building, i.e. today Atelier Terra, which has the status of a cultural monument of importance for industrial heritage, offers all the available technical and technological conditions for imparting knowledge, students during this ten-day practical class (9- May 19, 2022) transferred in parallel and 40 years of integrated experience in working with clay. This is evidenced by the results, as well as the work ethic with which the students approached and in a very short time successfully produced medium-format sculptures", Ivana Radovanović pointed out.
The installation "Terra(c)otto" is the result of cooperation between the FLU Cetinje and the Center for Fine and Applied Art "Terra" from Kikinda, and the exhibition is realized with the support of the Museums and Galleries of Podgorica.
"The agreement between these two institutions on cooperation in the field of fine arts (terracotta sculptures), education, museological practice and intercultural dialogue was signed 12 years ago and continued continuously until 2015. From 2021, with the support of the University of Montenegro, and from this year with the participation of the Capital of Cetinje and the Tourist Organization of Cetinje, the cooperation was renewed and as part of it, eight master's degree students attended a workshop in the field of sculpting sculpture in terracotta," the announcement states. on the occasion of the event.
As an accompanying program of the exhibition, a masterclass by prof. Kojić, the founder of "Terra", tomorrow in the Museum and Gallery of Podgorica at 11 am. Special guests will be students of the Primary Music School "Savo Popović" from Cetinje.
