Vlaović: Cultural heritage is the great development potential of Montenegro

Cultural heritage is a great development potential of Montenegro, because combining the traditional and the modern creates the conditions for the survival of Montenegrin culture in the global society, Minister of Culture and Media Maša Vlaović said.

She, together with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro, Judy Reising Rajnke, visited Cetinje and on that occasion they visited the Palace of King Nikola, the Art Museum and the Monastery Treasury.

Vlaović and Rajzing Rajnke discussed the previous results of the Ministry of Culture and Media and the projects that are planned in the coming period.

There was also talk about activities on the drafting of a set of media laws, the Media Strategy, the drafting of an umbrella document in the field of culture of the National Cultural Development Program, as well as projects such as the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The interlocutors agree that the Museum is necessary for Montenegro and will significantly contribute to the improvement of the sector of contemporary creativity.

Vlaović, during the conversation with Rajzing Rajnke, said that the Ministry of Culture and Media is working hard to ensure that all administrative procedures are implemented in the shortest possible time, and that the ambassador's support for this project is of great importance.

Rajing Rajnke pointed out that in the previous period the Embassy supported the implementation of several projects in the field of culture in Montenegro, and that she is extremely interested in continuing cooperation in the future.

Vlaović and Rajzing Rajnke are of the opinion that it is necessary to work on the creation of quality programs that will present the rich cultural heritage in a contemporary context and bring it closer to the younger generations.

During the conversation, the idea of ​​restarting the Cetinje Biennale was positively evaluated and it was stated that this event will once again place Cetinje on the European and world cultural map.

The interlocutors considered specific proposals for cooperation, in the field of culture, but also in the media, and concluded that the support and experience of the USA is important for Montenegro.
