Opened exhibition of sculptor Marko Đurović

Exhibition of sculptures "Touch of Solitude" by the academic sculptor Marko Đurović it was opened the night before last in the Modern Gallery "Jovo Ivanović" in Budva's Old Town.

She greeted those present in front of the Budva Museums and Galleries Ivana Domazetović who announced the program. In the musical part of the program, a student from the School for Elementary Music Education Budva performed Sergej Božović, who performed the compositions of D. Aguado - etida a minor and Sophocles Papas - Soleares.

"The cycle 'Touch of Solitude' consists of fourteen sculptures in the combined technique, created in the period after difficult life events that have a strong impact and shake a person. The process of creating any work of art is related to solitude. In those moments, the artist turns all the bitterness and sadness into energy, which is necessary for creativity. Marko, like nature, which creates new shoots with the most beautiful buds from a burnt area, manages to translate his misfortune and pain into works of art. In his works, we can feel the strength of the tremors caused in him by difficult life moments", curator Saša Radišić said about the exhibition.

He points out that Đurović's sculptures are like a big bang, which created new worlds out of great destruction and destruction, which we can see in the night sky sparkling with magical light.

"Mark's sculptures, in their archaic blackness, contain the shapes of spheres, beautiful and diverse, just like the heavenly bodies in the universe. They represent the bud that nature creates in the hearth. Those ideal and pure forms are not accidentally placed in this burning place which represents the misfortune that befell him. They symbolize the light at the end of the tunnel. The connection between these forms is a touch, a small thread, which divides joy and sorrow, life and death. A thread that gives faith in the better that is to come and motivates a person. Marko uses the connection between light and darkness in a very thoughtful way, in order to achieve a very original sculptural poetics. In his works, black, burnt trees reflect energetic strength, the strength with which Marko, like Sisyphus, climbs his ball like a stone towards the top," added Radišić.

The exhibition will be open until November 20.
