The Mayor of the Capital of Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković, said that Cetinje is a true center of culture and art.

Đurašković officially opened the 44th Montenegrin art salon "November 13" in Cetinje.

This year's art salon is held under the name "Ecomitology", and the artistic selector of the salon is Milica Bezmarević.

The exhibition is, as he reports PR Center, opened in the Montenegrin Art Gallery "Miodrag Dado Đurić" and will last until December 18, 2022.

Artist Darko Vučković from Montenegro won the Grand Prix of the 44th Montenegrin Art Salon "November 13" for the work "Soft Form", it was announced at the opening of the event.

They state that the expert jury headed by the president of the jury, Svetlana Racanović, art historian and art historians Ana Ivanović and Milica Bezmarević, decided that three equal awards of the Salon will be awarded to Nikolina Zuber for the work "Breakfast", Siniša Radulović for the work "Terraforming" and Ivan Šuković for the work "Equilibrium / For memory and long memory".

Đurašković said that the city administration is proud that year after year through the Montenegrin Art Salon "13. novembar" continue to affirm local and regional creators in order to, as he stated, achieve a wealth of different approaches and renew memories of the salon tradition and the principle of community.

"It seems that we have succeeded in this, since at this year's art salon we have artists not only from Montenegro, but also from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Kosovo and France. This speaks volumes about the reputation that this event has in artistic circles and assures that our Thirteenth of November Art Salon has a bright future," Đurašković pointed out.

He believes that such manifestations promote the Capital of Cetinje and its artistic contribution in preserving the fundamental values of Montenegrin culture and Montenegrin cultural identity in the most beautiful way, thus contributing to universal cultural values.

"We also confirm that the Capital of Cetinje is a true center of culture and art," said Đurašković.

The selector of this year's Salon and art historian, Milica Bezmarević, speaking about the theme of the exhibition of this year's Montenegrin Art Salon, "Ecomythology", said that in the space of aesthetics, where there are color, sound, space, form, concept or play, there is emotion and sensitivity as an expression of spirituality or meaningfulness.

"It is, ultimately, the field of interaction of the entire ecosystem, where, today more than ever, nature cannot be separated from art, where their interweaving builds a new, newly established, referential aesthetic universe," said Bezmarević.

According to her, this exhibition was also designed in this way, which, as she clarified, corresponds with artistic expressions that invite dialogue and open new spaces for interpretation and understanding of nature, technology, society and ourselves.

Art historian and president of the award jury Svetlana Racanović, explaining this year's Grand prix, said that the artist Darko Vučković allows the material to take on the quality of matter itself in its natural form.

"Darko allows that matter to take free, authentic and eccentric paths, through which it can release the capacity for meta-forming and for change and for duration," said Racanović.

Artist Darko Vučković said that he was surprised by the award, stating that he did not expect it.

"This award is therefore even more dear to me, because it is a confirmation of my long-term efforts. Those efforts concern research in the field of clay, ceramics, kilns and many things related to that issue, which is very broad. The production process itself has a technical and philosophical background", stated Vučković.

He pointed out that the exhibited works at the Salon are newer, stating that they were created during this year.

At the exhibition entitled "Ecomythologies" works were presented by 16 artists from six countries: Andrea Vamoš from France, Driton Selmani from Kosovo, Nina Ivanović and Stevan Kojić from Serbia, Emir Šehanović from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vana Urošević from Macedonia , as well as Montenegrin artists Darko Vučković, Milena Mijović Durutović, Nikolina Zuber, Teodora Nikčević, Jelena Pavićević, Ivana Radovanović, Siniša Radulović, Igor Rakčević, Maja Šofranac and Ivan Šuković.

As announced, the salon is organized by the Capital of Cetinje, in cooperation with the National Museum of Montenegro and the Association of Art Historians, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Media.
