Members of NIN's jury of critics, who make up Teofil Pančić, Marija Nenezić, Milena Đorđijević, Žarka Svirčev i Goran Korunović they chose the titles that are shortlisted for the novel of the year.
In the new issue of NIN, a summary of the shortlisted books is published, while the names of the finalists will be announced next Thursday.
Thirteen titles that remain in the running for the 2022 NIN Novel Award: Slobodan Tisma: "Astal tiš riba friš." The life of a poet: political nigredo" (Neuzac), Vladimir Jacimovic: "Return to Zeyrek" (Archipelago), Danica Vukićević: "Inner Sea" (Neuzac), Bora Cosic: "Bergot's Widow" (LOM), Milan Tripković: "Club of True Creators" (Book Factory), Goran Petrovic: "Watermarked Paper" (Laguna), Bojan Vasic: "Vlastelinstva" (Treći Trg/Srebrno drvo), Vladimir Mirkov Zivanovic: "Slepi putnik" (Partisan book), Mirjana Drljević: "Nobody is forgotten and we don't remember anything" (Booka), Uglješa Šajtinac: "Koljka and Sašenjka" (Archipelago), Marijana Canak: "Klara, Clarisa" (Bulevar books), Dalibor Pejić: "Sleepmen" (Geopoetics), Mirjana Novaković: "Peace and Peace" (Laguna).
In this circle there were three writers who previously received NIN's award: Slobodan Tišma (awarded in 2011), Bora Ćosić (1969), Goran Petrović (2000).
Vladimir Jaćimović, Danica Vukićević, Bojan Vasić, Vladimir Mirkov Živanović, Mirjana Drljević, Marijana Čanak and Dalibor Pejić are the authors of seven shortlisted titles, which are also their first published novels. It is also the first published book for Vladimir Jaćimović, Vladimir Mirkov Živanović and Mirjana Drljević.
Milan Tripković is in competition with his second novel, and Uglješa Šajtinac and Mirjana Novaković were previously shortlisted, in 2011 and 2000, respectively.
NIN will announce the shortlist and interviews with the finalists in the next issue, and the name of the 69th winner of the NIN award will be announced on Monday, January 23, around noon, according to the NIN website.
177 novels that met the requirements of the regulations were submitted to this year's NIN competition for novel of the year. A week ago, the NIN award jury chose a wider selection that included 31 titles.
