A bookshop Danica Vukićević received Nino's critic's award for the best novel of 2022 - for "Inner Sea", published by Neuzac, the jury for awarding this prestigious literary award announced today.
Danica Vukićević received the votes of three members of the jury, while they received one vote each Uglješa Šajtinac i Milan Tripković.
Members of NIN's critic jury Milena Đorđijević, Žarka Svirčev, Goran Korunović they voted for Danica Vukićević's novel, Teofil Pančić (president of the jury) for Tripković's novel "No one is forgotten and nothing is remembered" (Booka), while Marija Nenezić was for the novel "Koljka i Sašenjka" (Archipelago) by Uglješa Šajtinac, which was also in the shortlist in 2011 with the book "Sasvim skromni darovi".
The award-winning novel, as the jury pointed out, is formally inventive, it examines the problems of existence from the private to the socio-political level, from the materiality of everyday life to the key internal dramas of individuals in the modern world. "With linguistic subtlety and violence, Danica Vukićević transforms a fragmentary way of writing into a complete novelistic picture of the world," the jury pointed out.
The shortlist for the Nino Award for 2022 included the novel "Papir sa vodenim znako" (Laguna) Goran Petrović, a previous winner of the NIN award, who recently received the Belgrade City Library's "Belgrade Winner" award for "Papir" for 2022. The jury also included the novels "No one is forgotten and nothing is remembered" (Booka) in the shortlist. Mirjana Drljević and the novel "Clara, Clarisa" (Bulevar books) Marijana Canak.
The shortlist was made up of 13 novels in the shortlist, among which were the books of previous laureates Slobodan Tisma (awarded in 2011) "Astal tiš riba friš. The life of a poet - Political nigredo" (Neuzac) and Cosic's wrinkles (1969) "Bergot's Widow" (LOM).
There were 31 novels in the wider selection, selected from a total of 177 accepted for the competition.
