In revolutionary and great times, society is most easily managed and directed by slogans. When history "condenses" and its energy focuses in "one point" (H. Arendt), slogans are the fastest, but not the most useful medicine that can quickly heal a sick society and bring it to a stable and normal state. In other words, slogans cannot lower the temperature of the "brain and heart" of rebellious people below 37° Celsius. On the contrary. That is how it has always been and will be.

Therefore, it was and remains that the people are most easily "glued" to seductive words and deceived by populist slogans. They have proven to be the surest means for a group or an individual to reach a goal. And the goal is to win "your" government.

As much as one newspaper space allows, let's list rather than present a brief history of ruling slogans that had a fateful impact on the national direction of many societies, including the Montenegrin one.

1.

The most famous slogan of the communists from the XNUMXth century was the slogan "proletarians of all countries, unite". The slogan appeared for the first time in the "Communist Manifesto" K. Marx i F. Engels the revolutionary year of 1948. It was believed that only united workers/peasants would free themselves from "capitalist slavery" and along the way - de-green. The slogan called for the global unification of the proletariat to be on a class (proletarian) basis. Conceited communists did not see the nation as sufficient strength and emotion to achieve the ideological and revolutionary goal. Simply, the communists considered class - rightly so - to be a stronger integration factor than the nation.

In accordance with their ideology, the communists were the first globalists.

Under this slogan (umbrella) ideological states were built and spread throughout the world. After the first country of socialism (USSR), they are most often called "unions of Soviet republics". For those "first communists" - and for later ones - national borders were not important to them. Just as nations were small to them, the internal borders of any socialist state were even more unimportant and invisible to them.

In other words, the communists forgot or rather bypassed tradition, history and its strength. To them (communists), the ideology - and thus the socialist government - came from above from the "bright" future, i.e. from God himself. Therefore, only external borders and their expansion were important to them. It is little known in our country that it is Mao Zedong already in 1949. offered "his China" to join the USSR. JVStalin rejected that offer after a month of thinking.

2.

Lenin was more pragmatic and realistic than Marx and Engels. The class slogan about the unification of all the proletarians of the world was brought down to earth, i.e. nationalized in 1921. His slogan "Oppressed peoples and nations of all countries/states, unite" is remembered. Normally, Lenin had no idea - nor was it his goal - that by breaking the ideology of one class, he would create the basis for opening "Pandora's boxes" from which various murderous white-world nationalisms would later emerge.

The genius of the socialist revolution (Lenin) was not a visionary of Marx's caliber and type. And he was far from Marx's education, culture and broad knowledge.

If Marx's slogan on class unification was a visionary, and also very rational, spark towards the gathering of "humiliated and insulted" people all over the planet, Lenin's slogan on uniting people on a national basis was a source of passion, a source of emotions for starting a people's revolution around the world. So, in that sense, Lenin was closer to Hegel than to Makrs. And to any religion that "shudders" at the development of passion in man. (He - Hegel - believed that "nothing great in history can be achieved if there is no passion".)

Degradation and password literacy continued to decline. So they are in Tito's at the time the main post-war slogans were "Long live Tito", "Socialism, our right and obligation", "Long live self-management". But also numerous other passwords. (Tito's wartime slogans were rational, literate, short and led to an anti-fascist victory and the victory of socialism in the country.)

At the end of the XNUMXth century, in our country (Montenegro), everything was ruined by populist AB slogans. The "young, beautiful and smart" smelled the ravishing scent of the government. They concluded that "years begin in January". That is to say: a new, bright and better age will begin with us. Because only we can bring it to you Montenegrin people and "we know how".

3.

So, we want to say that emotions hidden in slogans can be - although not exclusively - very dangerous in politics (life). Especially in the dark and dangerous Balkans. Even when people's emotions are "captured" and imposed on society by various political marginals of dubious morals - even avaricious, why not say that - that's the direction to the abyss and the downfall of every society.

Therefore, nationalism imposed itself and proved to be a sure signpost and a means to conquering power. It is a passion that has become a (dangerous) profession for more or less all of our ruling politicians. Past and present. Because they are politicians of feudal type, ambition, ethics and vision.

Therefore, the famous communist slogan from the middle of the XNUMXth century could and should be used that today in Montenegro "a specter is roaming Montenegro, the specter of nationalism". But, they would add that this specter also circulates throughout Europe. And the Planet in various forms and dynamics. Therefore, Montenegro is not an exception.

But the eternal question is from the Bible and even before it until today, what is nationalism and how do groups and individuals understand, accept and apply it?

Let's conclude.

Slogans clearly show that one cannot and should not run away from nationalism. But it must be treated like any emotional and mental illness. The place of treatment has long been known. It is not the street, but liberal, democratic and, above all, state scientific institutions.

But such institutions need to be reached through patient and long-term work. It is not easy and simple. It could be said that this is our and the white world's pain. Because we are "professors" for quick solutions.
