The Minister of Culture and Media, Maša Vlaović, announced that for the successful development of the National Cultural Development Program 2023 - 2027, which will direct cultural flows in Montenegro and profile the country's cultural footprint abroad, the involvement and participation of all interested parties is necessary.
"The Ministry of Culture and Media is currently working on an umbrella strategic document in the field of culture, which will determine the long-term goals and priorities of the development of the culture of Montenegro for a period of five years," the statement of the Ministry of Culture and Media states.
As Vlaović says, the future of Montenegrin culture is bright, but it requires us to work together.
"By supporting transparency and inclusivity, we can unlock its potential and create a sea of new opportunities," emphasized Vlaović.
Vlaović invited the interested public, opinion makers, cultural workers, to take a detailed look at this strategically important document and during the public hearing, which will last until April 20, submit all comments that can improve it.
"The national cultural development program of Montenegro rests on two pillars of development, which are the place where the activities of the Ministry of Culture and the Media intertwine with all other actors in culture, as well as those "outside" who can contribute to its development," added Vlaović.
He states that the first pillar is dedicated to the improvement of the institutional framework, while the second pillar is dedicated to strengthening the ties of institutions in culture with a wide field of interested parties through cooperation and partnerships, which ultimately brings a unique, dynamic and vibrant field of culture.
"In the process of creating this document, we carried out extensive consultations, which included: public calls for submission of proposals in the initial stage of development, consultations with all national cultural institutions, focus groups with national cultural institutions, questionnaires on the state and development of culture in municipalities, state and municipal cultural institutions, the private and NGO sector, as well as questionnaires for the public in public cultural institutions," emphasized Vlaović.
Vlaović pointed out that after the first phase, a Working Body was formed, which included renowned cultural workers, representatives of scientific and professional institutions, professional associations, trade unions and other subjects from the field of culture, i.e. 27 of them.
"After the collected comments and suggestions of the members of the Working Body, the National Program was put up for public debate. That's why we affirm the public debate to the end and we want to hear your comments, proposals and suggestions," concluded Vlaović.
