"Dandelion" awards for achievements that "steal away from reality"

The "Dandelion" award in the regional selection of feature films, at the 14th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival, was won by "Museum of the Revolution" by Srdjan Keč, the decision of a three-member jury consisting of: director and producer from Serbia Andrijana Stojković, director from Croatia Andrej Korovljev and Montenegrin director Bojan Stijović.

This was announced tonight at the closing ceremony in Podgorica, when an award ceremony was held at the "Dragan Ivanović" basketball court in Njegoševo Park.

The "Museum of the Revolution" very convincingly shows how life on the absolute margins of society has all the emotional fullness, love and care for one's neighbors, explained the jury. "A society that once had a great ambition for the equality and well-being of all citizens has reached a point where that ambition has disappeared and has become stratified in a very dramatic way, where the materially most vulnerable are completely 'invisible' to the rest, and they themselves have no hope of their situation change.

This film is extremely skilfully made, and we would like to point out that we consider the real feat of being 'abducted from reality' to be such a touching and intimate scene with the protagonists," the explanation states.

The jury also awarded two special awards in the regional selection, namely the film "One More Spring" by Mladen Kovačević and the film "Called and Invited" by the author duo Luka Papić and Srđa Vuč.

The three-member jury decided to award the Dandelion Award for the best film in the international selection to the film "El Echo" by author Tatiana Huezo, stressing that it shows the seemingly ordinary life of a family in a small Mexican village with exceptional skill.

"A long and persistent 'look' at their everyday life reveals all the complexities of human existence, its material, spiritual, intellectual and emotional and even philosophical aspects. A grandmother, a mother and her four children take care of the property, which is all they have, at the same time caring deeply and tenderly about each other. The director and her collaborators have created a film of extraordinary beauty and strength that conducts an intimate conversation with the viewer about human beings and the strength of their connection," explained the jury.

The jury awarded a special award in the international selection to the film "Pawn Shop" by Lukaš Kovalski.

Jury member, director Bojan Stijović said earlier that UnderhillFest is an example of an inviting and beautiful atmosphere, but he also emphasized that the good and quality selection of artistic director and festival selector Vuk Perović made the job of the jury difficult.

The young jury consisting of students Ana Ćulum, Elena Simović and Jevrem Bojović decided on the awards in the selection of short documentary films, "7 short ones". They decided that the "Dandelion" award for the best short documentary film should go to "At the End of the Road" by author Ivana Todorović.

The special recognition of the jury in the category of short documentaries was given to the production "Return to Home" by Nikola Polić. A member of the jury, Jevrem Bojović, said earlier that "every film requires a certain amount of attention", which is exactly the importance of the festival, because it opens the eyes of the public.

The Audience Award was also awarded, and it was won by the film "Life Like Every Other" by Faistine Cros with an average rating of 4.87.

After the closing ceremony, there was a screening of films by TeenDocs school students, which was realized with the help of the company One and the Film Center of Montenegro, and the lecturers were film critic and producer Vuk Perović, director Dejan Petrović, director and cinematographer Ivan Čojbašić and editor Dmitar Janjušević. and the participants are students of "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium and "Petar I Petrović Njegoš" Gymnasium.

Around 21.30:XNUMX p.m., the screening of the second part of Mila Turajlić's diptych started at the "Dragan Ivanović" basketball court in Njegoševo Park, which the audience eagerly awaited at the opening, after everyone enthusiastically accepted the story of Stevan Labudović, as well as the Non-Aligned Movement.

Before the screening of the film, a member of Stevan Labudović's family - Petar Labudović - addressed the audience.

"This feature-length documentary film takes us on a journey through the archives of Stevan Labudović, the personal cameraman of Yugoslav President Tito. 'Cine-Guerrillas' introduces us to the media battle that took place during the Algerian War of Independence, in which the film medium was mobilized as a weapon of political struggle against of colonialism," the description states.

The producers are Mila Turaljić and Carine Chichkowsky, and the co-producers are Vanja Jambrović and Vuk Perović. The film was produced by "Poppy Pictures" from Serbia, "Survivance" from France, "Restart" from Croatia and "Kino" from Montenegro. This achievement was also supported by the Film Center of Montenegro.

At the end of the program, at 22.30:XNUMX p.m., a concert by the Belgrade band "Lira Vega" was announced, followed by DJ Dejan Vučetić Vuča.
